"Lovely room but strange place"

The room was lovely and very clean

The lift says that on the top floor there is a bar, a gym and a pool. The only true statement here is the pool that never had any filters that were actually working so the water seemed dirty and stagnant. This is not so much a criticism of the hotel, but I do not recommend staying in Ha Long Bay City. Just do the cruise and do not stay in the city. There are no people, no tourists, no restaurants or shops!

The room was lovely, very very clean. The reception area was always spotless.

The location has nothing around it. The hotel was too far away from any local business. There was nothing to do in the town. You have to be able to ride a scooter to go anywhere. The area was really really quiet with nowhere to get a nice meal.

"Cheaper than high end overnight cruise, but won't visit Halong again."

We paid for 2N but only got to spend 24hrs here, as our bus from Ha Giang was late (arrived at 6.30am). Room was great, comfy and had most of what we needed.

Had to ask for more towels, they didn't provide free bottled water (even homestays offer free small bottles), weren't helpful when our limousine bus (to take us to Ninh Binh arrived and they didn't even communicate to them that we were on our way down...long story short we got left behind and front of staff lady didn't want to help us by calling the driver, number provided to her).

fantastic property and staff very helpful - gave us free upgrade on arrival - rooftop pool such a great feature with amazing views of the bay

power cut on final day which meant no AC so a very sweaty final morning - however they did offer us a 1 night refund to compensate this so very well dealt with by the staff

actually we shouldn’t booked this hotel. no service at all.

did not mention that hotel was actually closed mid october ( all facilities including breakfast, room service etc). Also very far ( 2km) from center. Housekeeping to clean room ( towels etc) only before 8:30. Staff not present after paying in advance ( booked 3 nights). Cannot recommend this hotel at all.

"Quiet"

No breakfast just seafood noodles on offer, nothing near by either. We had to walk 40 mins to find somewhere to eat

Nothing around for food, very quiet. Hotel rooftop bar, gym and restaurant were all shut. We planned on staying there for a quiet evening before going halong bay
