Lovely pub/ hotel in a very pleasant and quiet location

Eggs Benedict was on the menu for breakfast , but all too often not available .

Great little hotel/pub, in a small village, very central mid Devon location. Not far from the moor, NT properties, villages, coast. Very friendly staff and a gorgeous breakfast.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. Although the mid week menu was small, it was perfectly cooked and the breakfast was very hearty, using all local produce. A perfect village pub with lovely locals giving a fantastic atmosphere.

Some tired fittings need replacing, however, the character of the village pub must remain and keeping a village pub alive, can’t be an easy task! Keep on going.

Excellent place, stayed for one night and the owners were extremely friendly, went out of their way to make us feel at home, couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was brilliant. Room was lovely.

Dingy bar, terrible limited deep fried only food options (regular chef had left but no mention of that before we arrived!). Felt like being in an episode of Fawlty Towers! We ended up cancelling our pre-booked 60th birthday dinner at the Red Lion and driving to the next town (20 mins) for dinner. We skipped breakfast altogether next morning (after letting in food delivery man ourselves as no staff on hand in the morning)! Both pints of beer in evening ended up down the drain (off!). Terrible experience all round
