Hotel Esperanza

Dennis and Karina were excellent hosts, and very attentive. The breakfast menu was quite extensive, with good service. We were glad that it was just a short walk downhill to get to the beach.

I would have preferred on-site parking, away from the road. Also, traffic noise at times was annoying.

Karina and Denis are absolutely lovely and helpfull with everything. We arrived as tourists and left after 10 nights as friends. The location to the beautiful beach „Playa Carrillo“ is very close. Anytime again.

The only thing is with the noise from the close road. But this you have all over Costa Rica at the main roads.

Dennis and his wife were so accommodating and helpful. You felt like part of a family.

Treated like family, some may say this in passing but its true here. Very warm welcoming, fresh to order breakfast, their place even has a pool. 5 min walk away from the beach.

Life is not about destinations it's about the journey. More importantly the PEOPLE you meet along that journey. Dennis (the owner, operator, cook, maintenance guy, and room cleaner) is one of the few people in my life I met I consider a remarkable human being. His staff (wife and mother-in-law) are as remarkable as he is.

I only hope I can get back to this place with my family before he moves on to his next journey.

Hosts were excellent; felt like being welcomed by family in a new country. Great welcome and introduction to Costa Rica for our first few days here. Breakfasts were amazing and plentiful, with fresh fruit and variety. We never left hungry! Dennis and Karina went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Short walk down a hill to an amazing beach, great restaurants and two stores right there. Pool was great as well. Thank you so much!

The overall layout of the hotel is perfect. There are 7 rooms all ground level leading out to the patio and pool. The pool is not only exceedingly clean it is beautiful. The morning breakfast is made to order with plenty of fresh fruit. The walk to beach is short but it is not a user friendly road and its a hike back up the hill. Positive note if you have a car you are literally 5 min away from a long sandy beach with lots and lots of places to find your on space. The town of Samara is 10 min away and has everything you can think of. The owners were super friendly and very helpful, every suggestion they made to where to eat was spot on. Super good food everywhere. Never felt safer no stress that way at all.

Not a lot to do, we found because walking anywhere wasn't an option { didn't like the road] we had more down time than we would have liked. Two weeks may have been a little to much.

Very friendly and warm welcome from Dennis and Carrie. Nothing too much trouble, and always helpful. Lovely breakfast by the pool, our room was very nice and the location was good for the best beach we saw in Costa Rica. We were very lucky to see humpback whales on a boat trip with Francisco, which we booked over the road.

Only annoyance were the motorbikes reving up as they went past , but this was only in the daytime, and the hotel is near the road.
