Noise from spa vents could be heard in the room and was quite intrusive

First time at this hotel, booked in advance for my husband's birthday. Met expectations and beyond, staff friendly, room amazing. Will definitely be going back

Beautiful building in idyllic surroundings

Bed far too small for two people, mattress must be 30 yrs old no thicker than a sunbed cushions

Good quality food with excellent service. Afternoon tea was superb.

Unfortunately on the second night got no sleep at all, due to an incessant noise emitting from the corner wall of the room. Phoned the night porter three times without a reply also went to reception three times to complain but it was vacant, so left a note. Went to reception at 7:30 to complain and all he said was they would look into the problem. We were leaving that morning and were going to explore the Northumberland coast, unfortunately due to tiredness we drove straight home. The value for money question was down due to this problem.

Good location for visiting the Northumberland coast - Farne Islands, Bamburgh, lindisfarne all nearby. Hotel was lovely and staff were helpful and friendly, particularly the restaurant staff. They were so conscious of those with special needs and where best to seat them. Our room was far bigger than I expected with huge windows. Liked the fact you got bottled water everyday, not just the first day.

My mum found it difficult getting in the shower over the bath but next time would look at booking an accessible room. Swimming pool was also difficult to access as only had a ladder to get in and out.
