The welcome email had some info that wasn’t clear in the Booking listing so I will paste it here - “If you arrive before check-in time, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the reception and come back later or wait until the room is ready. If you want to rent a scooter, we are happy to arrange that for you. Some other considerations… - Quiet hours are 8 PM to 8 AM - Hot showers are not available - No smoking anywhere on the Hotel property - Guests are not allowed visitors - Adults only - Arigilan is a tranquil space designed to support all guests in finding peace and relaxation, including those participating in silent meditation, retreats. No loud music or parties! We are cash only! Please arrive with your total MXN as the ATMs in the area are not reliable. *payment upfront.” An introvert’s dream. Ideal hotel for super quiet downtime, not a party hotel but a yogi hotel. From the hotel driveway you go left to Mazunte or right to San Augustinillo and both are equally easy 5-10 minute walks to the main strips. Small shop right there for bottled water, etc. Very clean refreshing small shaded swimming pool. Lots of terraces to relax privately. Potable filtered water available but I stuck to store-bought bottled water. Technically no hot shower water but mid-day the water is warm enough to wash shampoo out easily and stays luke-warm into the evenings. AC unit worked perfectly, cooled down the room within 10 minutes each time, plus a huge floor fan is there too.

Communal kitchen is hippie-chic, dishes are hand-washed, so I would sanitize utensils & plates before using if you are new to the area. I didn't bother to use the communal drip coffee maker but just went to eat out for all meals. Not ADA accessible; this didn't bother me, but important for some. Room-cleaning happens every day around noon, there is no door hanger to say that you don't want service that day. One time I came back at noon and had to sit on the hammock while they finished. It would be nice to be able to indicate you don't need cleaning that day, like if you are taking a nap or need to be in your room.

Amazing view and so quiet. Pool is cool and epic view also. Rooms vary but our king room with AC was a delight. Big terrace too.

Big walk up hill or stairs to get there but I loved it. Secret path to beach also. Best beach in the whole area for meditation and swimming.

Location is nice, there’s a staircase that leads down to playa elefante which is great for beach access. Staff is nice. AC in the rooms works great.

This space is more of a retreat center than I knew from booking, so it’s extremely quiet because there are sometimes silent retreats going on which is nice but I wish I would have known that beforehand. There’s also no smoking on the property and you have to be very quiet. There’s no hot showers and only a communal kitchen, no restaurant. Also the pool isn’t clean enough to swim in.

The bed was great, amazing views, very peaceful, & convenient community kitchen. I’m a walker, so while it is close to the town, you go down to beaches&town & back up to the Hotel. Many people rent scooters or taxis but I wasn’t in a hurry to go anywhere😊

Mid-June is very, very warm, but Arigalan has AC! Or just use the fan. And the pool is sweet, also has a great view of the ocean below.
