Our stay at Hotel Black Mustang was excellent. The room was very clean, calm, and quiet, providing a perfect environment for relaxation. The food was delicious, and I found the room to be a great value for the money. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the owner was very friendly to us. Additionally, the view from the balcony was lovely. I have no complaints at all and highly recommend this hotel.

This property is in a nice spot, walking distance to the main strip but far enough back to not hear traffic or mosque noise. Breakfast was traditional and lovely. The view from the room was nice. There was a verandah with chairs to sit in to relax. The shower is great and there is a nice view through the window. They offer parking outside reception. The room is spacious. If they were able to improve some of the items I’ve mentioned below this would be a great hotel.

On arrival reception had no idea we had booked online and called their manager 4 or 5 times before it was resolved. We chose this place as we had driven all day and were exhausted, they advertised they have a restaurant. The restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner. There is a pump they operate that makes a loud sound and it was too loud when we were trying to sleep. The rooms are not soundproof as advertised. There was also some loud noise at around 4.30am that sounded like moving furniture. Unfortunately our mattress was badly stained in many places. The sheet did not cover the whole mattress either. There as a massive stain at our heads, the area that has no sheet. For a new hotel I was shocked as to how bad it was. They don’t have mattress protectors. I don’t know why they wouldn’t put the right sized sheets on the bed. When I mentioned the state of the mattress I wasn’t really given any form of response. The TV did not work. Staff were aware already so this must be an ongoing issue that they have not resolved. Yet they advertised as having a TV in your room. We weren’t told to not lock the inside of the door and pulling it closed before going out. We did this and couldn’t get back in. The staff member spent ages trying to break into our room. It was stressful. They surprisingly don’t have a key, for this lock.. On paying the bill the receptionist didn’t have any change at all.

Modern property. Super friendly staff. We arrived late on SL New Year’s Eve and they arranged a pizza delivery for us as the cooks had all left earlier on. We had a feast of a breakfast on New Year’s morning after returning from our very early balloon trip. Staff could not have been nicer. Loved the en-suite alfresco (very private) shower and nice balcony.

No really comfortable place to sit in reception areas ( though that is typical of a lot of SL hotels) Quite far off the main high street so can’t just wander out for local eating but would be no problem to get a tuk tuk out.
