The Royal Oak Inn

Lovely, decent size room. Had a welcome gift for our dog in the room which she loved + extra blanket and water bowl. Has a small closed area for dogs to run around freely which was perfect for our dog. Delicious Breakfast.

Judy was extremely helpful, allowing us to check in early for a wedding and having the room ready and clean. The Royal Oak was close to the venue, comfortable and with beautiful surroundings. Thank you for our stay!

A comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast in an beautiful location.

The room and the pub needs quite a bit TLC.

Hosts, location, walks

The accommodation isn't glamorous but it's a really good base within the pub grounds. There's plenty of parking and fantastic views from the pub garden. It's a beautiful area with lots of animals around to adore. The pub itself is nice and there are also other local pubs that do food that's good too. We had a lovely time there (albeit 1 night). We visited Castle Drogo on the way there.

Just take some slippers or fluffy socks as the floor isn't carpeted so a little chilly on your feet if you wake up in the night for a midnight pee 😉

Proper old fashioned authentic pub. No airs and graces just good basic but clean accommodation, tasty food offering great facilities for both us and our dog.
