Het is in juli echt laagseizoen, dus de restaurantjes aan zee zijn gesloten. Ook kun je in deze periode niet zwemmen in zee.
AUThe property wasn’t busy when we visited. The staff were lovely. Particularly the restaurant staff. The executive chef produced some amazing meals and introduced us to some lovely Sri Lankan food. Thank you

Kalutara in general out of season (July) is relatively uneventful. The hotel room service menu could have more options.

DEWe had a wonderful 2-night stay at Mermaid hotel. The hotel was maintained excellently by the staff and all of them were really helpful. The rooms were clean. It had a large bathroom. The food was great. The chef and the restaurant staff were kind enough to ask for our preferences and prepare and serve delicious meals. The gym had all the equipment for a proper workout and the gym attendants were so helpful. Specially Mr. Shiwantha who was kind enough to play cricket with our kids, made their day. The pool is also well maintained and the length and the depth of the pool is ideal. We also had a birthday during our stay, and the restaurant staff were kindly prepared a complimentary birthday cake. I'll consider staying at this hotel again when I visit Sri Lanka due to the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service.
The beach next to the hotel wasn't that clean. Probably due to the rough sea during our stay. So the beach isn't the main attraction of the hotel. But the pool, gym and other sporting facilities compliment the not so ideal beach.
AURoom is spacy.
No lift for 3 storey building. when your room is in 3rd floor, you have to use stairs. It's expensive and there is a near by hotel with more facilities, Tangerine Beach hotel, which is the same price including a great buffet breakfast..
