Hotel Museo Matan Kaan Mahahual

We always stay at this hotel when we visit Mahahual 1-2x/year. We love everything about it! Wonderful staff, sparkling clean, beautiful rooms and pool and courtyard, nice little attached restaurant, and the best location. We’ll be back!

We like everything about it!

I liked the decoration of the hotel very much. Also the two swimming pools and the possibility of having breakfast in the restaurant. Also the service was excellent, they helped us with a lot of advice.

The bed was not that comfortable, at first the room smelled a bit like fumigant and you could hear all the noises a lot.

We stayed here for 2 nights - reserving a standard queen sized room. Our room was high up on the 3rd floor with a balcony that offered a view of the water. The balcony had one extremely weathered stool that looked like you would get splinters if you to used it to sit on. The sliding door for the balcony did not latch shut so someone could easily enter from the balcony of the adjoining room. The room itself was pretty basic with a very firm bed and pillows, a small flat screen TV that showed mostly programming in Spanish but did have CNN in English. The shower head was clogged with sarro (mineral deposits) and the water was tepid at best. There were nice containers of a locally made honey shampoo and nice soaps. The hotel does have a nice and large tiled pool but we didn't use it and a restuarant that is open for breakfast but we ate elsewhere.

The best place we have found in mahaual. Top floor balcony with a spectacular view.pet friendly so galahad gets to come along. The staff is awesome.bianca is always so accommodating. It's our go to spot every year.

Lovely hotel near the beach and restaurants. This well set out hotel has a lovely feel to it with lots of different areas to relax in whether it's by the large curving pool or on any level up the many open staircases. The roof top terrace is well worth the walk up and has another snalk pool and panoramic views of the ocean. The staff are helpful, friendly and always available. The rooms are ckean, spacious, comfortable and everything works as it should do. They are all colourfully themed. The whole place has been well thought out makes for a great place to relax and unwind. There is also a very reasonable restaurant which serves mexican food from breakfast through lunchtime. We'll book again if we come this way in the future.

We Loved the layout of the property and the unique treatments.

Our room was rundown; AC was intermittent, there was no light fixture in the bath just a bare light bulb, and the

property has a good location, the first restaurant across the streat is amazing … pool is nice and comon areas too
