Hotel Museo Matan Kaan Mahahual

First off, we do like to take vacations that are "luxurious" but we also take a lot of low budget trips to go away more often and see new places. This review is a budget review 2 things matter most to us 1 cleanliness and 2 a pool We are content with a basic room as long as we have beds and a bathroom and they are clean (a TV is nice but we have devices to watch content on) Cleanliness rating 10 Room rating 8 shower ran a little cold Room amenities basic, beds, AC (there is a ceiling fan, but it doesn't work however it is not needed), TV and ample furniture for two people and 2 end tables by the beds Hotel/condo/VRBO rating 8 simply because there's no elevator Amenities, free WiFi, pool and a restaurant for breakfast only Pool rating 6 unfortunately it doesn't get enough sun, and the water is kind of cold (if you're a beach person, this wouldn't apply as much, and the beautiful beaches are on the 90 seconds away) Staff rating 10 Restaurant rating/options breakfast only, not the best but many options within walking distance Location to things, for the most part all shopping, many restaurants are within a few minutes walk and the beach is one block away There are many excursions nearby and basically every hotel that is beachfront offers, lounges, tables, food, and drink If you're looking for budget stay, I would recommend if basic and budget friendly is what you're looking for This review does not take restaurant food in the consideration There are plenty of options nearby in driving walking distance We drove to the hotel and never once took the car anywhere

Location was amazing, staf very friendly and helpful.

Ability of the litle pool on the top and light at night will be nice.

Good location of the hotel (close to the beach and shops but away from the noise). Nice architecture and decoration (just a bit worn and unmaintained). Also room and bathroom interestingly architecturally designed. Nice amenities in the room. Good sleeping arrangements (bed and linen). Pleasant pool inside the hotel. Nice staff. During our second stay we had a much better room where the light was not working either, but it was fixed right away.

Everything's a little unmaintained. Shower needs fixing. No option (or hooks) for drying swimsuits and towels. Too bad the pool is time limited (10am to 9pm), we like to get in the water for a while to wake up, which is not possible at 8am. It would be enough if it was restricted for noise.

The property was in an excellent location and location was clean and staff was great

the hotel needs lots of updates,even sumple things as a bath mat,hand towel and msttrace sheet are missing
