De Manora Homes - Unpretentious hotel with a garden , posh area Ranjit Avenue

I am usually sceptical about all 5 star review places - but the garden's photo and my wife's pressure (married men would get my predicament :p), made me book this place in advance. We live in Bangalore and this was my going to be my first visit to Punjab. All the Punjab references in my head were what Hindi film industry (read Yash Chopra) had fed me; which combined with the cold and 'keep to yourself' nourishing in Bangalore had made me a little too skeptical about what my experience was going to be. I mean, obviously the Punjabi characters in the movies were caricatures and how could 'warmth' be a trait of the whole region - of course I thought there would be some good souls but most of the left brain made me expect some blurred Udta Punjab version - same went for the expectation that I had from the owner of De Manora. I mean, he sounded a little too cheerful and a little too excited for my visit to his property. To make my visit a truly memorable one, all these projections and caricatures needed to be true and there was hardly any space for aany spectrum as far as the soul warmth meter. But low did I get googlies!!! Let me start by the hotel. De Manora was beautiful. A private residence turned to just a few room hotel (all on the ground floor) with warm vibes of bhajan audible all day immediately transported me to the good old 90's where grannies lay pickles in the sun, children were visible on the fields and an old-fashioned DD1 briefed us about the day affairs at 9 PM - all altogether a feeling of sukoon! The owner did really seem enthusiastic about our visit here - not because I awed him with my voice on the phone - but because he really did want folks, not from the region, experience the region through his eyes and experience. Someone who loves his religion and space and is doing a service to others in his own way. No, I am not saying he is a saint, but he is not just a good businessman - he is a good business-human!!

I recently stayed for one night at De Manora Homes during my trip to Amritsar, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was exceptionally good—clean and comfortable—definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The owner is a very polite and pleasant person, making sure I felt right at home. He even took the time to explain the fascinating history and story of the Golden Temple, which added so much value to my visit (though it was a bit lengthy at 30-35 minutes, so you might want to ask him to keep it shorter if you're pressed for time). He also recommended trying the local kulfa, which turned out to be an excellent suggestion! Overall, I was very impressed and would highly recommend De Manora Homes to anyone visiting Amritsar.

The room was as shown in pictures and video shared by the owner. The owner Mr.Singh is the highlight as host and welcomed us, showed the room and also shared insights into Golden temple history and significance. The availability and flexibility of staff to assist in food needs for the infant baby 24x7 was the reason to select a homestay and we got what we wanted.

From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service provided by your staff throughout our visit, we were truly impressed. The room was not only clean, comfortable, and well-maintained but also thoughtfully prepared with the extra amenities we requested before our arrival, ensuring a seamless and relaxing stay. A special mention goes to the hotel owner, who went above and beyond to assist us in reaching the city despite the blockages on the National Highway on our way to Amritsar. His friendly demeanor and invaluable guidance on the best itinerary for exploring the city were greatly appreciated. The owner took the time to conduct a dedicated session with us and other guests, sharing insights into the significance of the Golden Temple, recommended places to visit, local cuisine, and other important aspects of the city. His kindness and support significantly enhanced our experience, and we are truly grateful for his assistance. Overall, our stay at De Manora was exceptional, and we look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you once again for providing such excellent service and for making our stay so memorable.

The property owner is friendly and will guide you the best itinerary in case you plan to explore the city. The rooms were comfy. The owner took a 15 min session for the guests explaining the significance of the Golden Temple, places to visit, about the food and other important things. Definitely recommended!

Hospitality of host...wonderful insight of to be done things in Amritsar..and food as arranged and customized per requirements

If you have early morning departure or any late night asks, then staff a little unready . You are a hidden gem...but need to amplify some rules...pasting strict rules of no drinks, no eating in rooms is a demeanor...really it was a dislike for me at least & anybody who sees it ...why should i compromise my relaxation or reliving time when i am paying and travelling to get some easy time.... which everyone does on holiday...just modify them for having more flexibility.

We had a great stay. Host and staff were wonderful and very helpful. They guided us and even accommodated special requests. The location is peaceful and nearby major tourist spots. Mr Gurmeher is very knowledgable and will give you a detailed itinerary - where to go, what to eat. Rooms are big and are well equipped.

Just one negative thing which can be improved upon is better ventilation in washrooms to avoid damp smell.

It is at the perfect location everything is easily accessible
