Macdonald Aviemore Hotel at Macdonald Aviemore Resort

The location is alright (but there are many other options in town with a similarly good location). There’s a shop and a swimming pool which are both nice facilities.

The buildings have a Soviet vibe on the outside and on the inside they are very worn and old. My main complaint is that our hotel room smelled like vomit. We notified the reception before we went out for activities and she promised someone would take care of it. When we returned late at night after dinner, nothing had been done and our kids had to go to bed. It was awful to sleep in such a smell, with only 1 small window to open. Other things to mention: the bathroom had a flickering light (and is too small and old - separate cold and warm taps on each side of the sink…), breakfast is very low quality cheap options, mostly unhealthy and the receptionist wasn’t particularly friendly. If you are considering to stay here because of the facilities, don’t do it, it’s very easy to drive there for the shop and you can also pay to visit the swimming pool. There is a Premier Inn in the town which will probably offer more modern and cleaner rooms.

Alle faciliteiten zijn gratis naast de kamer. Dat is tof en het ligt tegenover het treinstation.

Overmatig veel kleine kinderen en aan één kant van het hotel een supermarkt die bevoorraden in de nacht. Hierdoor een slechte nacht gehad maar het hotel heeft het heel goed opgelost.

Spacious rooms and lots of facilities. All staff were very professional and friendly.

More coffee sachets and toilet rolls inside the rooms for larger parties would be appreciated.

The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was nice and room was nice .

The hotel misleads customers as it states online that there is a pool which isn't true as the pool is next to the Highland hotel , the pool is used by 3 hotels . It states that there is a highland fish bar in this hotel which isn't true it hasn't been open for a long time so there is no restaurant in this hotel you have to go to highland hotel if you want food . The bar in hotel is not open at night if it isn't busy , myself and my mum arrived on Tues for 3 nights and the bar was closed at 7 , we went to town to eat , the only good thing about this hotel its beside the town and shops . The bathroom was really small and we burned our arms from the tower rail as it was roasting hot all the time and it's really close to you when you go in to the shower . This will be the first and last time we will go there .

The location next to the station is very convenient. Lots for the kids to do in the hotel and of course in the surrounding area. The pool with the slide and the wave machine was a particular favourite.

From the outside the buildings look pretty tired. Inside was a better story thankfully (although the interior designer went a little overboard on the tartan!)
