Dhow Resort

The sheets were sometimes dirty. There was sometimes no water in the bathroom and the Internet didn't work

Everyone at the staff - from the restaurant and reception to the cleaning crew was super kind, smiling and willing to help. the food is great and well seasoned, fair prices and the general feeling that everyone here wants to assist you with whatever you need. We booked our tours and massages through the reception which were of great value and experience for us. The rooms are clean, have great AC and a good pressure shower. Another bonus was the pool whenever the water at the beach were too shallow.

The bed and pillows weren't too comfortable but managable. Another thing was the music from the bar that we could hear from our room which was located closest to the restaurant - but once we mentioned it they moved us into a further room and that solved it perfectly. One last thing would be that there is a curtain instead of a door to the bathroom in the room, we didn't really mind but it's something worth mentioning.

Hidden gem. Clean , comfortable, very friendly staff. Good restaurant, easy access to other restaurants by just walking along the beach. They can arrange activities at a good price. Farid is super helpful, he arranged a tour for us to a spice farm, the Stone Town walk and a tour of the Prison Island.

Except for the small window of high tide, the water is too far, but that's a Jambiani problem. They have a pool, that helps a little.

The food was excellent, as were the management and staff. We had a fantastic holiday at the Dhow Resort.

Very clean and comfortable room. The staff, especially the waiters at the restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. Lunch and dinner was excellent. Great location right on the beach. Nice and cozy atmosphere compared to the overcrowded large resorts. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing

Two things really stood out - the spectacular location/sea side view & the excellent and very kind staff - most notably Farid (front office). He goes out of his way to ensure that you have a great stay, and will pro-actively help you with finding/booking the best activities. We recommend the 'community tour', to get to know the local way of living. Again, Farid was one of the highlights of our stay - so if you visit, ask for him ;) All other aspects (room, pool, food) were great as well.
