This is an old motel that is in the process of updating. The grounds are pretty with a gazebo. The lobby is large, two story, and with a large skylight. The walls are all newly painted aand our room was large with a nice kitchenette. Staff/owners were very nice.

The down side was the breakfast. They had the typical predone eggs in a warming pan, but no toast, bagel or muffin to go with it. Also had some prepackaged danish and Aussie bites (the bites were good). Shower was old.

We were completely disappointed with our stay at the Freemont Inn. The price was jacked WAY up because of the fair which made a trip to Lakeview for a funeral more expensive than a trip to Hawaii. The staff was barely visible and not terribly interested in their guests.

The proprietors were very kind and helpful - the eggs at breakfast were very very good - the lawn in front with the gazebo was very pleasant

The area behind the motel which our room looked on was a little grungy and some of the outdoor areas were not as clean and well maintained as the inside

While the room was clean, I was very put off by the threadbare sheets and several stains on the sheets. The towels were actually so old they were yellowed. (See photo below) Carpet was very old. I realize this is a small town and not many places to stay but for the price they really should buy new sheets and towels. Toilet water was brown. I was just very uncomfortable here. Chose this hotel because reviews were good snd said it was the nicer hotel in town. Thankfully we only stayed one night.
