Villa del Mar

The staff were very kind and helpful! The room was clean and felt newly renovated and aesthetically pleasing. It also had a beautiful balcony. Overall it is a beautiful property, there is a nice small pool which can be nice to relax in if you want to swim. They provided complimentary coffee, bread, and cold water which made it easy to start your day and save money on those expenses.

- The location was a little farther from the town than I expected and requires you to go up and down a steep hill. - The room gets hot during the day and at night which requires you to open the door but there is no netting/screening on the doors so mosquitos and other insects come in during the night. There was construction nearby that started at 8am every morning so that wakes you up if you leave the door open, along with the nearby roosters and dogs barking. - The balcony doors do not lock, which would not be an issue if my room wasn't the corner unit that is easy to access by hopping the fence. They kindly fixed this issue on my first day, but after 1 day the problem returned. - The bathroom mirror is very low so if you're a tall person it will be very hard to use it for shaving, getting ready, etc.

Office should have a freezer with ice.... let the staff manage this as a guest convenience..... and mmake a little beer $$ for themselves

Beds are huge and very comfortable. Spacious rooms, tastefully furnished. Pool is a nice extra. Quiet-ish location just outside of town.

No Aircon in rooms, lots of mosquitos and varying levels of mosquito screens on windows. Somewhat hilly dirt/sand road to the hotel might be difficult for some. Only realised speed 1 on the ceiling fan was the highest setting on our last day!

The receptionist was really friendly and let us look at a few rooms before we decided in which one we want to stay.

The shower did not have a shower curtain so the whole bathroom got wet and there was no floor towel so you got the whole room wet with your footsteps as well.
