"Sunny weekend"

We booked this at the last minute as weather forecast was good for the weekend. It is in the centre of Ambleside with parking outside and we enjoyed lunch before checking in. The room (5) was quiet and comfortable and breakfast was good with plenty of food in fact we've booked again for June

It would have been nice to be able to check in slightly before 3pm as we are bikers and needed to get out of our gear

"Great location and good value for a short stay"

Location is excellent and the onsite parking is a bonus as paid parking nearby is not cheap. Room was nice (number 5) with good bathroom toiletries and refreshments in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful and their is a nice atmosphere in the bar.

The free wifi was pretty slow and the tv had minimal channels (some of the Freeview channels).

"Birthday Celebration"

Staff were lovely. Very kindly left a birthday card and balloons for my husbands birthday - very nice touch Location was excellent, and parking a bonus!! Great stay, wish it could have been longer

Maybe I am out of touch with reality, but for £225 for a night you would think this would include breakfast

"Serious cleanliness issue, avoid this hotel"

Serious cleanliness issue with the hotel. Our room was dirty and as they had no other family room we had no other choice then to get refund. We then booked room at another hotel at a high price as we had nowhere to stay with two children. Staff was polite but but it does not matter if they have no clean room for their guests. I must say the rooms were proper dirty
