The Regal Hotel

had bed & breakfast. Breakfast very much improved....Stayed here last year, the hotel has just been taken over with new owner. Much improved, staff respectful, helpful and pleasant. ( perhaps would benefit with some food hygiene training, this is an observation not a criticism.)

most odd had shower and toilet in ensuit... the sink was in the room. The taps stiff and difficult to turn off and stop dripping there was a risk of causing a flood because the the sink didn't drain properly. Took some tie for the water to drain away.

The room was relatively clean and in a quiet part of the hotel. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and there was a lot of choice. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Nowhere to park, either at the hotel or in the surrounding area. Had to park at the wedding venue we were attending and leave the car there. Room cleanliness was okay but the ceiling paint in the (very small) bathroom was peeling off with dirty stain. Bedding was clean but the pillows underneath were dirty.

The rooms were nice and large with all the facilities you would expect. The staff were excellent and could have not been more helpful. The buffet breakfast was self serve help yourself, but staff were there to help if you needed any. If you are looking for a value for money stay I highly recommend this hotel and will not hesitate to pay a return visit.

There were only a couple of very minor issues in the fact the cold water tap in the washbasin in my room no 22 ran warm for some reason. Also the TV in the rooms lacked a few channels. Both these minor problems did not in any way spoil my holiday and have not put me off planning another visit to this hotel.

The Regal Hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast is excellent and warm not like other buffet breakfasts that are normally cold. I would prefer it if they cooked your eggs to order. They have a spacious bar with a variety of entertainment every day of the week. It is ideally situated for the beach, shops, arcades, or local trams and buses into Blackpool Town Centre.

We were in a twin room right at the end of the first floor. There were 4 people in the room above. The floorboards were very creaky and we heard every move they made! And believe you me they were up all night. They were talking very loudly, then raising their voices. They were in and out of their room like a yoyo. Eventually, (after my husband and I went to bed at 9.00 pm because I had a violent Migraine), I got up at 2am and went to reception to ask if they could go to the room and ask them to keep the noise down.. However, reception was closed, so I went and knocked on the bedroom door. I heard 3 male voices and a female voice. A young male with a baseball cap came to the door and was being pedantic with me when I said we were directly below and were trying to sleep, but couldn't because of the noise they were making. I said please don't let either me or my husband have to come back. 1 and a half hours later the noise had not stopped I went back to reception to see if there was a number to call and found a Bell that said if you need assistance to press the bell. This I did and a lady came and I explained what was happening, I wanted go for a smoke so she showed me a little veranda smoking area. As we were talking the two lads came onto the veranda and said they were sorry and they would be quiet. I replied you should have thought about 5/6hours ago. Maz told them off and said if she heard any more noise she would put them out. The noise carried on for another couple of hours and I went to see Maz, I was walking down the hallway putting the boys out. She was then going to check the room.

The bed seemed OK although I did not sleep in it.

The furniture was shabby. The bathroom was pokey, and there was no anti slip mat in the shower and I nearly fell as a result. The WiFi which worked in the Reception area did not work in the room. I decided to leave without sleeping there and continue my journey.
