Rossington Hall

It was a fine Victorian/Edwardian house. My bedroom and bathroom where huge with everything you needed.

The drive to the property wasn’t very inviting full of huge pot holes and it was behind the riding school. Just needed tidying-up. It was very quiet with awful back ground music playing all the time. Dinner was pub food and a winter menu. Anybody could have cooked it. I didn’t expect that type dinner when I was paying £250 a night!!! Probably only interested in letting the whole hotel for weddings. The only plus I had a very nice breakfast at the Lodge as you enter the property Definitely not for a solo traveller and probably ok if you take the whole hotel over but make sure there is a good chef!!

The room is enormous, and it was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was super helpful and friendly.

A nice grand house

It feels old and dark, not very clean, a little smelly in the room. Expensive for what it was.

By staying here we saved heaps of time and money by not having to visit and pay to visit multiple homes over the UK. We just stayed in one. Staff encouraged us to explore the whole house. This gave us an understanding of what it was like inside these historical homes. Currently the owners are carrying out renovations in other parts of the home but the guest and dining areas are great to see and use. There are also peacocks everywhere which was a great treat.

Initially I would of liked a fridge to store perishable food, but as soon as I told the staff they accommodated us by keeping our milk etc in the kitchen fridge. So that was sorted.

This could be a real gem

The room was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and meant a good night's sleep. The shower and towels were good, but the bathroom needed dusting.

The access road is very potholed and difficult to drive on. The garden view was basic. The room was dusty and needed better cleaning. Guest supplies were minimal, one toilet roll, not many milks etc.
