No one spoke English, which is quite typical for Kazakhstan. That problem was solved by Google translator, which is a real miraculous travel aid. The breakfast was all done with a menu, no buffet. They would give us a menu and ask what we we wanted. We asked many times how much we have to pay, but it was all free!
