"Leuk verblijf gehad"

2 grote heerlijke zwembaden, ruime privé-parking, ruime kamers, locatie, restaurant waar je lekker gaan eten. Heerlijk ontbijtbuffet met veel keuze. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Zelfs het weerbericht wordt er dagelijks geafficheerd. Na 1 dag verblijf heb ik spijtig genoeg een andere kamer gevraagd met een echte douche ipv een bad. Enerzijds wel een beetje jammer, want het was een mooie, frisse en rustig gelegen kamer met een grote frigo. Alleen de badkamer en de bediening van de airco viel wat tegen. Ik motiveerde aan de receptie duidelijk waarom ik een andere kamer wou en ze hebben mijn verzoek ter harte genomen. Als je op een correcte en respectvolle manier communiceert dan krijg je veel geregeld. De receptionist heeft me hier zeer goed geholpen en had na 2 dagen een andere kamer met douche voor mij ter beschikking. De hotelkamers worden elke dag netjes onderhouden en je krijgt elke dag verse handdoeken.

De badkamer in mijn oorspronkelijk geboekte badkamer was niet naar mijn wens. Een verouderd bad, slecht werkende kranen en een een scherm op de badrand dat zo slecht was geplaatst dat tijdens het douchen de badkamer onder water liep. 's Avonds veel muzikaal lawaai aan het zwembad, soms tot 23 uur. Misschien hoort dit wel bij vakantie, maar persoonlijk vond ik dit storend. Ik ga liever wat vroeger slapen om 's morgens ook wat vroeger op te staan. Let dus op als je aan kamer nabij het zwembad boekt. Het zou beter zijn om de muziek te beperken tot 22 uur. Niet iedereen wenst lawaai tot in de late uren. Sommige hotelkamers hebben toch meer renovatie nodig, ze geven een afgeleefde indruk. Ik geef het daarom zeker geen 4 sterren, eerder 3. De faciliteiten van het hotel maken wel veel goed. Ik zou hier zeker terugkomen.

"You can’t go wrong! Great place to stay"

There are mixed reviews of a lot of resorts and hotels around this area, but I picked the right one! I think it’s underrated because it’s beautiful location great beach, great pool clean the people are friendly although limited English speaking, you can make your way through it with Google Translate Couldn’t say better things about this resort. I wish my stay was longer, but I’m getting on a catamaran today and sailing around the islands.

"Avoid, in spite of some positives."

First, the good: Many of the staff members were friendly and helpful. As non-French speakers (who speak two other languages that are not our primary one) who travel a fair amount, we understand that we do not speak their language and do not proceed with the expectation that people speak ours. We value the cultural differences and personal moments encountered while traveling. Several staff members, especially a young woman from Dominica who works at Yureli Beach Bar, were particularly helpful and encouraging and even laughed at my jokes about my poor French skills. I apologize that I lost the note where I wrote her name, but she deserves recognition. We used the spa and must recognize Lea, Thaliana and Perle for their excellent service! Our room was quite nice and the balcony and view were spectacular. Now the challenges: First, we booked a transfer from the airport through the concierge. They did not respond to the message I sent through the form on the hotel's website, so I had to call. The confirmation email I was sent was in English and was confusing. I thought it stated that the transfer was one-way. As a result, I went to the front desk and arranged a separate cab ride to return to the airport for the end of our stay. The front desk staff person said that she was looking at the concierge transfer and led me to believe that she also understood it to be one-way (otherwise, why would she book me a return cab?). After my stay, I emailed the concierge and was told that it was round trip. I asked for a refund of the unused portion and was told by the concierge that a refund of half of the round-trip amount would be refunded to my bank account, the details for which I provided them. I view this as an honest misunderstanding and one which the hotel should correct. After weeks of no refund and lack of response to calls, I am led to conclude that the hotel is not worthy of trust and should be avoided at all costs. Second, a few staff members were downright rude, primarily a tall bald waiter at the breakfast buffet. When we hesitated (too long for him, apparently) while trying to process what he was saying, he gave us a dirty look and became rude. There was no cause for this behavior, as we were sitting, smiling, looking up at him and trying to understand him and formulate a response to what he had said. This certainly put a damper on our day! The next day, we sat on the opposite side of the breakfast area to be away from him. Finally, the condition of the property was below average, with a run-down atmosphere, especially in the exterior hallways and room wings further away from the lobby. All in all, I would recommend staying somewhere else.
