The location of course, The historical building and its very respectful restoration – including the impressive living rooms and Michelin restaurant spaces, The suite, The spa and the pools, The pilates lessons included in the rate.

For the price paid - check the rates of a suite in August, we were expected an exceptional stay in “the Mediterranean’s most private and secluded resort”. Set apart the building, the location, and the facilities, our impression is a stay in … a basic airport Hilton. Which is not a fair comparison, as Hilton is not so bling bling and offers a honnest value for money. The Sea-Club restaurant is opened to non-residents. As a result, it is invaded by dozens of outside instagram tourists - for dozens of tables. Instead of a peaceful diner watching the sunset, we had diner surrounded by tourists taking pictures and speaking loudly. Of course the restaurant staff can not properly deal with such a mass of clients and “tossed us off”. We felt like in Mykonos... The staff – with some exceptions, is mostly very young (trainees or summer jobs?), completely unexperienced with 5-stars hotel standards and rarely fluent in English – not mentioning other languages. Interacting was very often rather impossible, which forces to basic requests for 3 days. Not a palace experience. The breakfast: despite it was served in the suite – and even on the terrace, which was great, the dishes are absolutely not up to standard of a 5 stars hotel. The fruits are not ripe. The scrambled eggs were not prepared with fresh eggs. No dishes cooked or prepared – but pieces of cheese or ham or anchovies – and not the best quality ones - Metro. Sausages were awful. Marmalades were basic - Metro again … Actually, not a single dish was at the level of a place hosting a restaurant mentioned by the Michelin Guide.

The location is amazing, the hotel itself and its architecture is beautiful

The kitchen seemed always understaffed and there were always delays. The breakfast was average. A man in reception was not attentive - not what we would expect from a hotel this ‘luxurious’ - check in is super long they make you wait around they offer you a glass of water and then there’s no one around for you to say you need a bottle in that heat… The toiletries in bedroom were basic - when I called to ask if they had a nail file they said they didn’t - which I found odd again not a luxury hotel experience. The service in general and attention to detail is missing but the place itself is beautiful. PS they charge 7 euros for a bottle of water - which is only filtered not even like an expensive brand of water it’s just filtered …

The suites are exceptional, the food delicious, the nature and sun sets, the best i experienced.
