Hi Chiangmai Hotel

It feels good when you walk in- clean, light and roomy. We had a two bedroom suite which worked well for our family. The pool area is very pleasant. The pool is quite deep so quite cool on a hot day.

It felt like the management of the hotel was lacking when we were there. We waited an hour for check in then and came back at 2pm and were given our keys for the room. No escort or help with the bags, so no one there to see our horror on our faces when we walked into an unmade room. The receptionist lacked empathy. Later staff much better. Beds across the room, unmade. Wet towels/floor. Dirty tissue on bench etc. Had to wait a further 50 minutes in the foyer. They did end up giving us a free breakfast, on encouragement, which helped soothe us a little. But this general lack of organisation was seen elsewhere- no clean pool towels. Very limited supply. Toilet paper run out in WC near pool in the morning. Freezer was iced up. Safes didn’t work. Shower head faulty. Most fixed for us.

The hotel was in a prime location just around 10 minutes walk to both the old city and Nimman (Grab is also a couple of minutes drive). It is a relatively new hotel, very family friendly and the room was very spacious and suited everything we needed. We had a toddler with us and there was plenty of room for her to run around. The bathroom was huge and we had both a large shower, large sink and a bathtub. We had breakfast every morning beside the pool with both European and Asian options. They don't offer dinner but with the old city and the wealth of markets/retaurants available there is no need. There was also an automated laundromat in the lobby which was great for us as we were on a longer trip. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming and will sort out any issues asap. We also wanted to book a day trip last minute and the two girls (Joy & Mae, I think, I hope I got the right names) organised it for us with no problems and brought all of the info and confirmation up to the room for us. They really helped us a lot over the week we were there.

The only small minus was that it would have been nice to have the option for lunch/coffee when you're down at the pool area during the day (it's possibly as it was a new hotel and also off-season). But in saying that, there is a great cafe right across the road.
