We love traveling and staying in quaint and heritage places. We chanced upon The Bangala on the net and was excited to stay here. The hospitality is really good and the food is absolutely amazing! The property including rooms are very well maintained. It's an apt place to relax and unwind. Thank you team Bangala for all that you do and keep up the good work. Definitely my go to place to stay in Karaikudi!

Heritage property with a unique, old world charm. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with beautiful Athangudi floor times. Our room just outside the swimming pool was lovely. The staff is warm, hospitable and always ready to help with tips regarding sightseeing. The kitchen and dining staff is amazing. Sadly, their manager Mr Yakob George died of a sudden and shocking heart attack just a few days prior to our visit - but his assistant Ms Hinaaz was coping very competently and took good care of the guests. The food her deserves a special shout out - every meal is a poem! This was my second trip to this place and won't be the last for sure :) The owner, 91 year old Mrs Meyappam, still visits every day to supervise the kitchen, set the menu and motivate the staff. Her energy and enthusiasm are an inspiration!

The room was huge. The staff very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is famous for a good reason - it was clean and the traditional food (lunch) tasted amazing. The breakfast was scrumptious. There were lots of options. The best was the swimming pool!

Initially, I had booked a garden-view room, thinking it was a pool-view. When I mentioned it to the staff, they graciously offered us a complimentary upgrade without hesitation, allowing us to enjoy the serene pool view. This gesture truly set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully adorned with traditional decor that added to the hotel’s historic charm. Every corner of the property exudes a sense of old-world elegance, from the carefully curated furnishings to the inviting ambiance. The dining experience deserves special mention. The food was nothing short of extraordinary — an authentic taste of Chettinad cuisine, served with impeccable hygiene. The dining area itself felt like a journey back in time, and the warm, inviting atmosphere enhanced every meal. A special shout-out to Mariaraj, who provided exceptional service at the dining area. His attentiveness, engaging demeanor, and genuine warmth made every meal feel like a curated dining experience. He took the time to explain each dish, waited patiently before serving the next course, and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout. His hospitality truly elevated our stay, leaving us with a memorable 5-star experience. The Bangala’s amenities are thoughtfully designed to provide a sense of calm and relaxation. The gift shop offers a delightful collection of Karaikudi’s local crafts and keepsakes, perfect for those looking to take home a piece of the region’s heritage.
