The property was beautiful!

The weather was very hot, which I know is out of control by the hotel, it would have been nice to have fans or something in the rooms to move the air around a bit more.

Decent evening meal in the bar and a good breakfast.

Old sash windows in my room which I had to wedge open as they would not stay open by themselves.

It's a beautiful old building, with its own story to tell. The inside and the outside were a bit like a fairytale castle. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful too.

It was very warm! Not their fault in a heatwave! 😁

The breakfast choice was good and the food. The hotel is next door to Abbotsford House and the views are of woodland apart from Abbots ford chimneys and bits of roof.

Location and tranquility

Very friendly staff, understanding about the delays on our journey. The hotel has lots of architectural features which are interesting to look around but also a very practical set up with sofas, ironing facilities and reading materials in lounging areas. My parents were upgraded to the most massive room with a turret and lots of original features, which was really intriguing and very comfortable. I had a very comfortable room myself and had a great shower. Both rooms had great views. It would have been nice to stay longer but we just had a stop off in the middle of a long journey.

An exceptional hotel. So much history with a number of original features which are a pleasure to see. Rooms were nice and big, everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Whilst clearly an older property, it was very modern in its approach. The hotel restaurant was great. Lovely food, reasonably priced and great service. Breakfast was great, well presented and prepared beautifully. Would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
