Sumba Beach House

The view is stunning, and we were pretty much alone. Sat on the veranda for hours and watched the beach and the waves.

The only issue was with the food. It took a very long time (which is normal here), but when it finally arrived, it seemed to be full of artificial flavorings or something similar. For instance, the tacos came with pre-made coleslaw sauce, and the meat was not only tough but also greasy. Additionally, the Indonesian vegetable dish with meat that we ordered didn't taste particularly appealing. I strongly encourage the owner to provide training for the staff. We understand that it may not be part of their local tradition to prepare these meals.

Food is pretty bad. We went to Alamaya for dinner two nights because we can tired of the food. The breakfast menu is pretty good but could be included in the price I would say.

- Food can definitely be improved - Apart from the lady who manages the place, service is not great nor charming - Zero welcoming: upon arrival we were just pointed at our room, literally no further words nor explanation (we found that a bit extreme) - Not their fault, but beware of sand fleas on the beach! - A small drying rack or a couple of extra wall hooks wouldn’t hurt :)

Best laid back beachfront location I've found in the area. Super friendly staff around manager Jeni who gave many great tips and arranged a healer for my injured foot..thank you! Food menu had lots of choice and all dishes were tasty and great value for money. Super comfy rooms, tastefully decorated and sleeping with the sound of the waves. Will definitely be back!
