The Wooden Gate

We had a lovely stay at The Wooden Gate. Very clean rooms and grounds. Lovely staff. Walking distance to restaurants. Loved having the use of free cycles, we cycled around the local rice fields and to Trang An. Good breakfast. Great to have use of the washer and dryer. Lan was very helpful and booked our bus tickets to go to Sapa for us.

Loved our stay here. Lan was very helpful and kind throughout. Lovely, clean place, and good location- not too close to the main buzz of town and in a quiet location. The breakfast is a la carte(you order the night before from a set menu) and pretty decent.

The rooms are a bit dark for reading/working etc, and you can hear other guests through the walls. Other than that, very comfortable.

Der wunderschöne Garten , wir haben uns wie in einer Oase gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind sehr großzügig und gemütlich , Moskitonetz , Ventilatoren , Klimaanlage top und relativ leise .Dusche & Badewanne . Täglich frische Handtücher, Bett wurde nicht gemacht. Hat uns nicht gestört . Alles sehr sauber . Kleine Teeküche mit Kühlschrank. Täglich 2 kleine Flaschen Wasser . Unser Appartement war im 1.stock mit Balkon , Sitzplatz und sitzpolstern. Frühstück einfach , aber sehr gut. Fahrräder jederzeit verfügbar , wir durften sie einfach selbst nehmen . In der Umgebung nette Restaurant s verfügbar, Taschenlampe oder Stirnlampe mitnehmen . Waschmaschine und Trockner jederzeit gratis verfügbar und zugänglich . Schöner Pool, wunderschöne Gartenanlage , die täglich gereinigt wird . Sitzgelegenheiten am Pool . Überdachter , offener Frühstücksraum- Kamin für kühlere , nasse Tage .

The staff is really kind and helpful. Bicycles were good. Food was delicious.

There were sometimes small issues with the water supply, but not for days only for hours. Everything alse was perfect

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this property. Amazing garden and pool setting, very nice design of the rooms (although furniture slightly dated), friendly hosts, free washing service, free bikes.

Although outside of Tam Coc, mass tourism has already left its unpleasant scars in this village... Although in a quiet side street, construction work is ongoing... partially very loud and heavy construction work on a Saturday evening even after 11pm. Staff onsite does not speak english, translate apps work and a connection via whatsapp to somebody who speaks english exists though.
