The Strontian Hotel

Prachtige locatie en ontzettend vriendelijk staff. De kamers met lochview zijn fantastisch. Ook lekker gegeten in het restaurant.

Vloeren plakken een beetje in restaurant en ontbijtzaal. Overigens wel schoon!

Position ideal. View from bedroom lovely. Staff friendly.

Breakfasts very disappointing ……watery undercooked egg and sausage that tasted only of preservatives. I gave up on cooked breakfasts after first morning ( and we stayed four nights) Evening meals disappointing too except for fish and chips…..that meal was good.

Great location

Good was very disappointing. They are on the edge of the Atlantic and served frozen scampi. Common guys, you can do much better. Use the larder on your doorstep to make incredible ingredients into amazing meals!

Der Ausblick auf den See und dem dahinter befindlichen Bergen war sehr gut .

Das Frühstück musste einen Tag vorher zusammengestellt werden. Kein Buffet. Es gab keinen Lift . Wer einen schweren Koffer hat buckelt den über eine Treppe nach oben. Obwohl die ganze Zeit unseres Abendessens der Wunschplatz frei blieb ,durften wir uns trotz Reservierung im Restaurantbereich nicht dort hinsetzen. Wir mussten im extrem lauten Barbereich Platz nehmen.

The Hotel is located in an amazing place in the middle of the Highlands. The view on the lake is unbelievable.

The Hotel is quite old, and the owner explained that they are renovating many parts of the structure. We had a “suite” that was quite old and not so well maintained. The moquette was in some points full of humidity, the shower enclosure old and did not close well. The bed was broken on the lateral side. In general the price related to the quality does not match at all. We also had dinner in their restaurant, to be improved for sure.

Die Ausstattung unseres Zimmers war sehr einfach. Die Fenster ließen sich nicht richtig öffnen, Matratze war total durchgelegen, Teppich im Zimmer schmuddelig, Badezimmer einfach (keine Steckdose, Durchlauferhitzer). Das Wetter war ziemlich kühl und nass draußen, heizen konnte man leider nur mit einem Elektroofen, im Bad konnte gar nicht geheizt werden. Das Essen im Pub war nur mittelmäßig.

Perfect location overlooking Loch Sunart on the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula. Some of the hotel looks as though it has recently been decorated. Room was a good size. I liked the complimentary Tunnocks wafers. Nice breakfast. Julie (the owner) was struggling with ferry cancellations, the aftermath of Storm Floris and no catering deliveries but was still chatty and.friendly.

The bedroom decor was tired. The beds were a little old, so were creaky and wobbly. A quick once over with an Allen key would probably sort them out. The room was over the kitchen so there was a smell of chips during the day and cooked breakfast in the morning. It also overlooked the bin area but in fairness the price does reflect the lack of view.
