The Strontian Hotel

This is a family run hotel and there is a lovely atmosphere there. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was amazing. The fruit was so fresh, really nice.

Cracking view of Loch Sunart from the front of the hotel. Good hot shower. Staff very friendly. Dinner was great (but overpriced).

Doors banging downstairs every couple of minutes from 7am - Not a very peaceful start to the day. The room could have been a bit cleaner too as I had to remove the old spider webs hanging from the ceiling. Bed was hard and not very comfortable for the price we paid. Breakfast was average and a bit undercooked. Forget the dry haggis.

Lovely friendly, helpful staff, both in the hotel & Bothy. Great bar & good food. Lovely comfortable sitting area and the bedrooms were clean & comfortable. Quiet area but the village is a short distance away.

The breakfast room was small & cramped but Julie is taking over the Bothy area so the breakfast may move into there which is much bigger

This hotel is situated on the shore of loch sunart. The view was fantastic . It is marketed as luxurious accommodation, the reason we chose it.Pub was lively with locals. Downstairs at the hotel and the staircase have been renovated to a good standard. Food was average.In a couple of years, this hotel will be the one it advertises it is . At the moment, adequate for a 1 or 2 night stay.

We stayed in room 4. Opened the door to find a bedroom stuck in the 1960s . Washbasin in the corner of the room, no wardrobe, a rack on the wall with coat hangers, a suitcase stand beneath it. Only drawers in bedside tables, and one chair to sit on. A newish TV on the wall. Tiny shower slightly mouldy with toilet opposite. Wind whistled through the ill fitting window. Rooms are not serviced, so on the third day I took wet towels down after breakfast and asked for dry ones from the girl who served breakfast, I then took them upstairs. We booked five nights left after four,on a beautiful sunny morning. Dissalutioned.
