The Tobermory Hotel

Location

On the Saturday night , bar staff called last bell in bar at 21.30 . They started to pile up chairs where we were sitting and said they would have called it earlier , as two people were still eating. When booking , I was not informed that the 2 rooms would share the one toilet only accessible via my bedroom . Had this information been made available at point of booking , I would have selected another type of room . The reception was unmanned after 22.00 and at 09.30 , I could not discuss this issue further . Breakfast staff appeared rushed and flustered . We had to request napkins and plates , find our own condiments , despite reserving our breakfast slot in am .

Great place in a great location. Breakfast was lovely. Staff very nice.

No bike storage, which was difficult for us as we didn't have anywhere to park them - I hope they look into this in future!

The location is top class, the breakfast was good and the staff really friendly.

Can’t store bikes but you only find that out once you pay if booking via Booking.com Room is tiny Room 8 overlooks the back yard ( ideal for storing bikes) Kitchen staff noisy no need to set the alarm for the breakfast time you have to book in advance Young make receptionist not very helpful

Per la cifra pagata mi sarei aspetttao una stanza nella struttura principale e non un appartamento angusto nella struttura associata. Con l’aggiunta di un letto per mia figlia era impossibile muoversi. La struttura pareva più un ostello della gioventú che un hotel. Le foto viste su booking al momento della scelta si riferiscono all’albergo vero e proprio e finisci per pagare per tutt’altro. 300 sterline per una notte così non sono giustificate.

It’s a very old house with plenty of charm and a really cosy atmosphere. The hotel restaurant is excellent, with a wide selection of dishes and very friendly staff. Free parking is available right outside the hotel!

Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was very poor. There’s one network for the bar area and another for the hotel. Although my room was very close to reception, I didn’t have any Wi-Fi for the three nights I was there. But that’s really just complaining on a high level; maybe it was just me...

Very comfortable room with an excellent shower. Breakfasts were great, loads of choice and the food was good.

Having an 'inside room' meant I only had a skylight, not a window. It would have been good to have a proper blackout blind given sunrise is pretty early in the north of Scotland at the end of May!
