Petra Guest House Hotel

You are literal steps away from the entrance to Petra, the closest of any hotel. The rooms are nice, the staff are polite, friendly and helpful, and the coolest bar in town is located here: the cave bar. Couldn’t have imagined staying anywhere else during my vacation to Petra.

Staff The Jordanian hospitality at its best. Yes the location isn’t too ideal but you can make it work by arranging a taxi to pick you up and drop off. Breakfast was decent (but small) but it has everything you need. We enjoyed breakfast each morning - fresh produce and foul. Don’t expect a typical Asian Shangri-La breakfast station. View from the hotel is quite nice- night city vista is something to remember. Lastly having a spa facility was good, especially after a long walk in Petra. Didn’t get to try Turkish hamman (it wasn’t working when I stayed) but massage was decent.

Location is far from the main street so you will need a taxi. Bathroom shower can overfill quickly but you can manage easily.

We had an incredible stay here. The accomodation is very comfortable and could not be more conveniently located. The breakfast was fantastic and fresh and plentiful every morning. Our stay was made was made particularly special by the staff, especially Amer. He helped us organise two birthday surprises and was always available to help in any way we needed. He worked extremely hard for very long hours, yet was still always extremely kind and amenable. He even brought us blankets at the bar after he had finished his shift one night as he was worried we were cold. Thank you so much Amer and all the staff for such a wonderful time in Petra and for your hospitality.

Setting and location was excellent, but the standout for me was warmth and care the team members took.

The location is absolutely wonderful, two steps away from Petra. After walking for many hours in Petra, the best thing is not having to think about how to get to the hotel. Parking was free and that is a wonderful perk. The view from the restaurant was amazing. They also gave us a complementary bowl of fresh fruit. Hanadi, the lady from the reception was extremely helpful and kind.
