Great location, beautiful pub with fantastic food

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, shower leaked, door had no seal so could hear and feel wind through. Also missing certain finishes such as a place to hang towels, and no glasses.

"Lovely location in Derbyshire with fantastic views."

7.0

I've stayed here before and it's in a spectacular location with gorgeous views over Derbyshire. The cottages are clean and spacious with good showers and there's a decent size sitting area. Pretty good value for money.

The heating didn't work on the night I stayed, although I was generally warm enough, it would have been nice. The kitchen tea towel had a big hole and was old and tired looking and, although not a big deal, seems symbolic of a lack of attention to detail.

"A charming and authentic country pub with beautiful clean rooms overlooking rolling country hills"

10.0

A beautiful rustic country pub full of charm and history, with very welcoming and friendly staff. My room / cabin at the back of the property was tastefully renovated and consistent with the era of the time. It was spotlessly clean, large in size (bedroom, kitchenette and family room), great wifi and had a magnificent view of the rolling hills and valley which you woke to. If you're looking for a country retreat for the weekend, or just an overnight stay away from the city, I would happy recommend this charming pub.

Nothing at all.

Nice location for a quite evening. On arrival the member of staff was welcoming and showed us to our room. I was a little disappointed as i had called the day before to ask for an upgraded room (willing to pay) was told it was sorted but ended up with standard room. It was clean but small and dont think it was worth the £150 per/night. The food on the evening was very good with big portion and after the starters the main was a challange. I was a little disappointed with seeing staff using vapes whilst in the bar area when guests are told that smoking and vaping is outside only. However overall its a lovely building and our stay was enjoyed.
