Superb location. Really great host who seems to do everything himself but is always on hand and friendly. Very good breakfast

It’s a little expensive for what it is but then it’s the only place like it in this area

In a beautiful spot on our trip around the NC 500. Very comfortable and a lovely welcome. Wonderful food expertly cooked. Comfy bed and everything we needed in our room.

The only thing I’d suggest is that the double room we were in needed a mirror close to a socket for when using the hairdryer

Awesome old sporting lodge with a lot of history. Great food and breakfast. It is a great stay that is family-friendly and has unforgettable interiors. The location is great and enjoy it being secluded

The location and communal rooms are stunning. The staff were really welcoming and professional. Dinner was very good. The room was clean and well styled. This place is charming and has an old fashioned opulence that we loved.

We had a spa bath with rainbow lighting which I was excited to try but unfortunately it was broken and the taps didn’t run. We had to fill the bath using the shower which took a while. The view from our bedroom window wasn’t great. With these two things improved, I’d be giving a 10 but when you pay a lot you want things to work.
