Hom pho guesthouse

Guesthouse was in a good location for restaurants, a stroll by the Mekong, ATM's and SIM card retailer. It also was able to arrange onward travel. The guesthouse was good. Had a range of bedroom furniture, fridge. Coffee available in the foyer. Large room, and bed. Shower. Not spotless but OK. Friendly, helpful member of staff who spoke good English.

The hostel is location in the centre of Huay Xai a two second walk from the Gibbon experience office which is really handy. They provided shampoo and soap. The man at reception was really friendly, polite, and helpful. The rooms were big.

The mattresses were lumpy, hard, and felt collapsed in places. The pillows were really big and hard which made for a poor night of sleep. There were dirty smears on the walls, not sure what. It is a basic hostel so you get what you pay for.

Hot water was iffy.

Very cheap and central but so so dirty and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Everything would have been ok for one night if it wasn’t for how dirty the room was.
