The Riviera Hotel & Apartments - Alum Chine

The hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary spa area, which was a great addition to our stay. The hotel was quiet throughout the night, ensuring a restful sleep. Our room was equipped with tea-making facilities, and complimentary water was always available at the reception desk. We also appreciated the free parking, as our car was safely parked directly in front of the hotel throughout our stay. The hotel is easy to reach, and a comfortable walk along the beach takes you to the town center in no time.

The room was quite small, and the interior felt dated and in need of renovation. The double bed was very narrow, and the mattress appeared to have passed its best years long ago, making it less comfortable than expected. The bathroom was extremely small and cramped, leaving very little room to move comfortably. Breakfast was acceptable, but it lacked healthy and fresh options that many guests would appreciate. I would recommend avoiding dinner at the hotel restaurant. The strong smell of fish was noticeable throughout parts of the hotel, and the quality of the food was disappointing. Some dishes were poorly prepared and, on occasion, difficult to enjoy. The television was exceptionally small and appeared to be more than 15 years old. Watching TV before bedtime was not particularly enjoyable due to the outdated equipment. Overall, the hotel would benefit from greater attention to detail, a refurbishment of the rooms and common areas, and significant improvements to the restaurant. While the hotel has potential, it currently feels overdue for modernization.

Good to have breakfast included. Great to have a room with a view and balcony. Only a short walk to the beach where there was a good breakfast.

Possibly the balconies could have had a coat of paint.

We had a balcony with sea view which was worth paying extra for, although you are looking out over lots of houses and construction work. Staff nice and friendly. Nice quiet room on first floor. Spa looked nice but did not use.

Shower was very basic, over the bath with a curtain that didn't even go all the way round, so drafty! Bathroom lighting horribly bright. Beds a bit too soft. We were able to park in the hotel car park which was convenient. Not really walking distance from restaurants etc, except for one beach cafe, which was nice for breakfast.

Swimming pool and jacuzzi was quite which was perfect for me and my Mrs, the staff was fantastic(Mike and Nicole)very friendly and very caring, they delivered all our requests, will be back in August.

Family room was a quite though and bathroom small and basic.
