La Fora Ecolodge

Absolutely beautiful place with great views, very friendly staff and good food. They also helped us organizing transfers and tours (once around the island and once the hike of Pico do Fogo).

Only two minor things that we were already aware from other reviews and that were no problem for us: 1. Showers can be rather cold depending on the time of the day (if you shower in the afternoon/evening, there is plenty of hot water). 2. At the same time, it can be quite hot in the evening and as the rooms don‘t have AC, it takes some time to cool down (and you should not be afraid of insects ;-) ).

Absolutely fantastic accommodation!

The place is wonderful (plants, lodges, pool...) and very calm. The view is beautiful. The hosts are super nice!

La Fora was amazing - such an excellent set up in a beautiful location. The lodges were great and the bar/restaurant and pool areas were ideal for relaxing too (with the most beautiful sunset views!) Aaron pre-arranged a brilliant guide for the Pico de Fogo hike for me as well, which was also excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore Fogo.

Beautiful location, quiet and great retreat for proper rest with a stunning sunset. The bungalows are private with a balcony. Great location to stay if you are visiting the vulcano, however it takes 1 hour plus driving to get there.

The room facilities are basic. You are given a hands soup only.

it is very tranquil and quiet with lovely views. the bed was comfy and it was nice to have a veranda.

It was cold in the room for me but I was there during the winter season! you can’t get a proper meal during the day and have to get the 3 course meal after 7 which is too restrictive for me.

Beatyful place, very stylish, in a wonderful setting. Very helpfully host, helped us with booking of guide, taxis, hiking tips etc. Really the best place we stairs in on our 14 day trip! We will definitely be back.

We had a problem with the hot water. Which was all right since the days where very warm.

Wonderful place. Very cool lodges, nice view, great food (breakfast, diner, tapas) and lovely people. The owners Aaron and Ellen were super helpful, arranging trips last minute for us and packing us breakfast/lunch :)
