Hotel A Esteva

What a find this hotel is, from the fantastic greeting at check in to very well appointed rooms, with lovely cold AC, we even had a little balcony with French doors. Very happy with this stop over. A very tasty breakfast was served with both hit and cold options.

The other guests were super noisy, in the room below us, which ended up with me having to bang on the walls. So I suppose that the sound insulation could be better.

Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was varied and good quality. Street parking was good. Bed was very firm. Pillows were good. Air con was quiet and efficient.

This is now the only hotel in Castro Verde since the Villa Verde closed. It has 2 floors and no lift but we understand from a fellow guest that the disability access ground floor room is well fitted out. There is very little onsite parking but plenty on the street outside, and which is surprisingly quiet given that it is over the road from the hospital. The décor is a bit abstract but bright and cheerful with a high atrium. Our ensuite room was amply large enough and had a balcony with table and chairs, though too hot to use in the blazing sun. If you want shade in the afternoon and evening + being away from the road, ask for a room overlooking the pool. It had good free wifi and a/c, and the only English language TV news channel of the holiday. Breakfast was self service with a good selection in a large high ceilinged room overlooking the pool. There are no other meals but a bar is open all day and evening and we saw an odd local call in early for coffee. Guests seemed to be a mixture of businessmen and birdwatchers. The hotel is sited very near the Alentejo plains which are excellent for birding. The receptionist Jorge had excellent English and a very wide interest - we had a half hour discussion with him one day ranging over various ancient civilisations and many other things!

Confy beds, excellent breakfast, extraordinary facilities. Definitly a place where you can stay. A modern hotel with an wellcoming poll, friendly staff, and one of the most cleanest hotels i found this year.

Rooms are clean and big enough. Great hospitality, kind and lovely personnel. Breakfast was always ready at 5 AM due to my working hours. Breakfast is very rich. More than 3 stars. You feel boutique comfort. Thank you guys for your great service and hospitality.

Went there for the 1st time on business trip. Room is clean, hotel is properly managed and carries good croissants for breakfast. Love the pool. Decent size and good place to release your steam off after long work hours. Wifi was slow with intermittent. Tough to facetime or make Whatsapp call from your room. Wifi at the lobby area is fine.

I have stayed in A Estreva a few times and always found the hotel to be a friendly place with comfy and clean rooms and a lovely breakfast. The hotel is very close to the centre of town so easy walk to restaurants and bars in the area. Will certainly stay here again

Arrived and was met by Jorge Neves who's happy persona, cheerful smile and "couldn't do enough for us" attitude was fantastic, great start. Rooms were spacious, very clean, modern, with TV, wifi, balcony, air conditioning & towels. You'll not go hungry at breakfast there is plenty of variety. Swimming pool and surround is clean but can get super hot on the terrace large umbrellas are provided as are sun loungers. Pool towels are a little extra but won't break the bank. Would definitely return. Excellent location for bird watching as all the Hotspots for birds are within an hour maximum. Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and restaurants.

Staying in family, in a single night. The booking was very simple , made by phone. For families, they have familly rooms. Rooms are simple, clean and with air conditioning if necessary. Breakfast is nice, in a room with natural light and pool view, that looked attractive but it was a bit chilly outside, so we will try it another time. In breakfast i only misses a better orange juice (very "syntetic"). Fruits a bit acid.. In Portugalwe have great oranges and better fruit. Price adequate /not so expensive for the overall stay. The staff team is always very helpfull and friendly.
