Beautiful Cotswold pub. Stunning with Christmas decorations. Babbling brook which we could hear from our room. Really lovely comfortable rooms with super king bed. Very quiet at night. Nice good quality pub food. Great friendly service. Sat eating breakfast watching a kingfisher. Can’t recommend enough. Overall felt like really good value.

Very nice location, beautiful area, excellent food

Unfortunately, I really have to say that the room was dirty. It looked as if it had not been properly cleaned for a very long time. There were cobwebs in the corners of the floor as well as in the upper corners of the ceiling. Surfaces had not been wiped; there were coffee and tea cup marks and a very thick layer of dust. I wiped the surfaces with a damp cloth afterward, and the cloth was quite dirty. The toilet was DEFINITELY NOT cleaned between us and the previous guest. It felt as if the cleaning staff took a quick look and thought, “that will do,” but there were clearly visible traces from the previous guest. I was very surprised and disappointed, especially since the White Hart has such good reviews. The water kettle and the coffee machine have definitely not been cleaned in any way for a very long time (see photos). The food was excellent, and the girls working there were very nice. However, we would have liked to order a dessert and two cocktails, but we were simply never asked again if we wanted anything else. At one point, a gentleman came over and asked if we wanted dessert. We said yes and asked for the menu, but after that he never came back — and neither did anyone else. Our drinks were also forgotten. When our food arrived and we still had no drinks, we asked about them and were told that more guests had just arrived and that the bar was very busy, which was completely understandable. However, the gentleman never came back to check whether we had received our drinks in the meantime. Only after quite some time did one of the girls notice that we still had nothing and then realized that our order had never been passed on at all. By then, we were finished with our starters. The gentleman never followed up on this. These are all things that can absolutely happen in a restaurant. However, in combination with the dirty room, this convinced me to mention all of it here
