Deep south Eco-lodge

Great place to unwind far from everything. Very very basic but everything you really need. Great breakfast and dinners, great staff.

Loved the place. Fady and all the staff is amazing, friendly and helpful in case you need anything. The food was super tasty, no problems as a vegetarian either and if you cannot make it for breakfast (early dive) they prepare a small food package the evening before to take with you. The "house" was spacious, very basic but has everything you need. Really appreciated the free water and snacks. Loved the dogs and the area & surroundings are beautiful, stunning sunrises, sunsets and night sky included. (Gotta love "nothingness", peace and quiet tho :) Also did not have any problems or weird situations being alone as a female around the area. And can recommend the deep south dive school. Cannot wait to go back! :)

Maybe a little more variety for breakfast would be nice And the shower pressure makes it a bit hard to wash long hair

Super helpful and nice staff, nice guests, magical landscape, zen and joyful. We were very happy to escape the ‘resort’ world and meet a little bit of real Egypt. The minimalist style is an immediate invitation to relax. Travelling with our dog we were also pleased to meet egyptian dog’s lovers

‘Booking’ info about room selection was not clear enough. Lukily, Deep south upgraded us ro a ‘chalet’ which was super comfortable.

Back at this desert camp in Egypt, and it's even more amazing! Close to the beach with awesome snorkeling and diving. The glamping vibe, the food is a treat, and feeling of being far away from everywhere - even if the nearest city is 15m away:)Seriously, nowhere else like it. If you want a unique and memorable stay, this camp is a must!

The staff was very friendly, did everything they could to make you feel good at this camp. Flexible with check-in/out. Food was good. Shared bathrooms (2 showers / 2toilets), were kept clean. The basic comfort was as expected when booking. price info: -about 70€ for 2 dives (or 45 for one, equipment included for the whole day). 110 or 120 for the special locations -dinner in camp 6-8€ - taxi to marsa alam city (and back) around 8€

Communication in advance about the diving could have been better. For someone with a short stay with the goal of diving (like me), I would advise to communicate well in advance what you expectations are. Maybe even directly with the dive centre. Because of miscommunications and organisational issues, I was not able to do the dives i came for. Ofcourse this should not affect my rating of the accomodation, since there was nothing wrong with that. But it was the only reason I was here, so it wat a very dissapointing stay because of the dive-planning. I knew in advance there was not much to do in the evening around the camp, but i didn't mind since i expected busy days diving... Since 2/3 of my time, i could not go diving as planned, it were very long, slow days. unfortunate combination of reasons and expectations lead to dissapointment. If you do expect to have a lazy chill time, going snorkeling (maybe diving, if well planned, or if you don't mind them choosing the spots), enjoying relax time at your room or on the hill (cozy lounge spot). Then you're at the right place.

Great location, it’s the opposite of a resort. Quiet, secluded, near the beach with a great dive shop and house reef to snorkel. Easy access to Marsa Alam by taxi. Fady and all his team were lovely. They really go out of their way to help you. Food for dinner and breakfast was great. Met lots of nice people over the shared dinners and by diving together. Clear starry nights and nice sunsets over the desert/mountains in distance too. Facilities are basic but good value - would recommend staying here if you like the above!

Electricity is limited to a few hours a day and theres no wi fi- but that’s also part of what makes it a great place to disconnect and relax

If you’re not into primitive life and nature, don’t go there. I just expected it to be closer to the beach. The distance was written though. For me, the problem is the lizards if a camp is in the desert, not close enough to a beach. I should have known.. still, everything else was as expected.

Wonderful, calm place in the desert and next to the amazing Red Sea reefs. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts and dinners are delicious! There is nothing else around (except a dive shop) so you can completely switch off.
