Great Customer service, tasty dishes

I was disgusted about this hotel. Something different was shown on the pictures compared what we received in reality. The room per 2619 PLN for 3 nights looks like hotel robotniczy in Katowice A.D. 1980's, we haven't got even the fridge when outside was over 30 celsius degree however the room was very clean , great customer service and very tasty dishes. Despite of that I feel cheat as I received something different than I was shown on photos. .We expected to received jungfrau instead of AlteFrau. There was no option to replace this room although we make a complain. Please look at enclosed photos. In my opinnion IT is a shame to offer this kind of standard across all Swiss. Shame U ! The money should be return.

Genialny hotel! Trafił nam się pokój nr 33 i moim zdaniem to najlepszy pokój w całym obiekcie. Widok z okna robi ogromne wrażenie, ale największy hit to… toaleta z widokiem na słynny wodospad w Lauterbrunnen. Serio, chyba nie ma drugiego takiego miejsca, gdzie można podziwiać taki widok z tak nietypowej perspektywy. 😄 Najlepsza akcja była na recepcji. Weszliśmy i od razu zaczęliśmy mówić po angielsku, a po chwili okazało się, że cała obsługa mówi po polsku. Człowiek jedzie do Szwajcarii, a tu nagle czuje się jak w domu. Mega pozytywne zaskoczenie i świetna atmosfera od pierwszej minuty. A łóżko? Dawno nie spałem tak dobrze. Materac idealny, poduszki perfekcyjne, a kołdra ciężka i niesamowicie wygodna – dokładnie taka, jaką lubię. Obudziłem się naprawdę wypoczęty, co w hotelach zdarza mi się bardzo rzadko. Czysto, świetna lokalizacja, fantastyczna obsługa i niezapomniane widoki. Jeśli jeszcze kiedyś wrócę do Lauterbrunnen, to na pewno właśnie tutaj. Pokój 33 mogę polecić w ciemno.

The view is stunning

Old hotel at a super location, but unfortunately in a very poor state of maintenance, massively understaffed, inexperienced staff. They do their best and are very friendly but you cannot run a big restaurant and the frontdesk reception with just 2 people of which one doesnt know how to split a bill and the other tells you to drive to Stechelberg because you have been relocated (??????). In terms of the room; small, outdated, worn out and a refurbished bathroom (looks nice) but with a shower that hardly gives water, which is a total disgrace. This hotel has all the ingredients to be a rop notch hotel, in fact thats thw pricelevel too, but somehow the owners seem to have other priorities. Plenty of apternatives around I guess.

Inte så trevlig personal. Dålig service. Det fanns vattenkokare på rummet. Men kontakten passade inte i uttaget. Adaptern fanns tydligen i receptionen/bardisken. Tre trappor ner utan hiss. Frukosten var påver.

Location was amazing.

We ended up staying in one room one night and then moving to another room for a few more nights. Shower in both rooms were broken. Bed frame in second room was broken. And I’m positive the second family deluxe room was full of mold. The ceiling was bubbling above the sink and around edges.

Location and staff

The room door opens into the bathroom. The toilet lid was propped on top of the tank and the seat was extremely loose…however it was replaced quickly when brought to the hotels attention. There was no visible management staff. The restaurant staff handled all checkin and questions about room needs. The tissue dispenser was completely empty…not even an empty box. The light over the sink had an electric razor outlet but was unusable because the 500 mA fuse was blown. The hotel supplied hair dryer did not fit either (yes, only 2) electrical outlet. The pins on the plugs were too large for the much older wall receptacle. Same problem with the hotel hot pot water heater. When asked about this the hotel supplied an adapter which should not be necessary for these 220v European appliances. The room chandelier had bulbs in only 2 of the 3 sockets. The window handle had 3 of the 4 screws holding it to the frame loose and one was interfering with the function of the handle. I tightened them myself as I was sure the staff was getting tired of my requests. No AC is normal, however the staff said no fans were available, which is inconsiderate during the heat wave. The only window opened onto a small flat roof area adjacent to the walk up outside entrance which made room security impossible with the window open in any other position than the top open ventilation option which allowed little to no breeze. The only late evening hotel access was via the 12 metal grate steps to the 1st floor so this hotel is NOT acceptable for disabled guests. This room was so uncomfortable that we left before the second night for a better location.

No room service no cleaning and no maintenance. Not good.
