Sofitel Luang Prabang

Beautiful property, comfortable room, with friendly staff and the rabbits were a nice extra :)

The hotel arranged a day trip to Kuang Si Waterfall. The tour was run by the hotel. On the way back they stopped at an elephant camp, “Luang Prabang Elephants camp” on Google, with a 2.4 rating out of c. 750 reviews. As most of the reviews on Google note, this place is appalling, unethical and totally inappropriate for a hotel like the Sofitel to support and I asked to leave the camp immediately. The elephants are chained, fed and ridden by tourists, it is nothing short of animal abuse. This experience put a real dampener on the day trip to Kuang Si. The Sofitel should find a more ethical elephant camp (of which there are many) to visit.

歴史ある建物のチーク材の茶色、庭の鮮やかな緑、プールのパラソルの紫が映えて絵画のように美しい場所です。建物を四方に囲まれた中庭は静寂に包まれて別世界でした。夜のライトアップもとても綺麗で、街から戻ると別世界でした。 お部屋のインテリアも素敵で、リビングエリアのソファでのんびり過ごしました。プライベートプールからバスルームにアクセスできるのも良かったです。 庭に面したレストランは景色も味も素晴らしかったです。 スタッフもいつも笑顔でちょうど良い距離感で親切にしてくれました。また、ぜひ訪れたいです。

特にありましせん。 建物の構造上仕方ありませんが、塀に囲まれているのでヴィラのお庭は風通しがあまりよくありません。

The hotel staff was great. I hired a motorbike and flipped over. The hotel staff escorted me to the hospital and took X-ray. Luckily it was only ankle twisted and no bone issue. I was lucky to live in Sofitel especially the manager named Max provided a lot of help. If I were living in other hotel, I doubt they would provide the same level service. The hotel itself was also great.

Lovely, friendly and attentive staff.

Pool renovation was noisy and blue sheeting around work site was unattractive. Inability to access room except via a back path past the kitchen and engineering was not what I expected. Disappointing stay.

I wish the residence was a bit closer to the town centre…

The perfect quiet sanctuary in the middle of a beautiful city where time stood still. Beautiful grounds, lovely breakfast spot. The kids loved to feed the rabbits that run around in the garden. It was very lovely. The villa was spacious and the outdoor pavilion with the bath was great! The shuttle service that was available was great service.

Some parts like the pool and the villa are in need of a touch up. Also the price of the food (lunch/diner) was very out of proportion.
