Inovecká Chata

We visited this place when hiking in Slovakia with my brother. Everything was perfect. This is the best tourism shelter I have ever been to. Prices are very reasonable, quality is perfect. What I appreciated most was the fact that when approached the place, we were hosted so friendly, our hosts were ready to open the restaurant just for us, to prepare for us an outstanding dinner.

Shared bathrooms are slightly inconvenient (if you are on the top floor, they are one floor down). Only one shower stall. The vast amount of African photos, art, and souvenirs is an interesting choice for a Slovakian mountain hut.

The location is ideal for a family holiday. The food and friendliness of the staff is beyond praise. We will definitely be back, and more than once.

I would like to have a refrigerator in the room, at least not a big one.

This is an exceptional location, a seventh heaven amid nature, in a beautifully renovated lodge (chata) - lodge rather than just cottage, as it comprises several buildings. Restaurant and bar are part of the facility (needs to be , the next village is some 6 K away...). The lodgings themselves are somewhat rudimentary, youth hostel style (separate toilet and shower room in the hallway, down a squeaky wooden staircase), but highly satisfactory and well maintained. Friendly staff, good wholesome food. But the peace and quiet of the place in the morning and the evening, when the bikers and hikers have left the premises adn trails, are heavenly.

Almost all signs and indications are in Slovak, with no translation to English. They should try and open up to international customers as well, unless they want to keep this hidden gem for Slovaks alone (which I cannot imagine).
