"Enjoyable but could have been so much better"

6.0

Visited with my daughters for a sunset spa experience which included a main course dinner with a glass of bubbly and use of the spa facilities. The meal was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The drinks prices were however expensive including the non alcoholic cocktails. The spa itself was very enjoyable although busy but what was so disappointing was the changing facilities which were totally inadequate. There is only 1 toilet in the ladies changing room and three shower cubicles, one of which was not in use. The room itself is so small that you can hardly move because of the number of people using it. There were two small benches in the main area which was barely suffice for two people to be able to sit down or put a bag or your clothes onto so as not to be setting them on a wet floor. There is a bit more space at the other side of the narrow room but it has the sinks and hairdryers, more lockers and one seat so again little space to actually change in. It was very busy and we had to keep moving aside to let others access their lockers or get round to the sinks. In addition there is absolutely no privacy for changing. We left the pool early to get in to change before the rush at closing time but it was still packed and totally inadequate for the numbers using the facilities and not up to the standard you would expect for a 4 star hotel. My local council leisure centre has far better facilities!!. It have been ok if you were staying in the hotel and could have gone back to your room to change. The spa itself was lovely and enjoyable but was again let down by the price of cocktails £15.95 !! each, although the staff in the bar were very friendly and helpful. In addition, the lack of facilities to hang up your towel and robe while using the pool was very disappointing. We just had to find a space to leave them lying at the side of the pool which was not ideal at all and they could easily have been mixed up with someone’s else’s. Overall while we did enjoy the meal and the spa we do not believe it is worth the prices charged or up to a standard that you would expect and will not be returning.

"Gorgeous hotel, amazing food and friendly staff"

10.0

We had a lovely stay in the rabbit hotel recently for an anniversary. Our room was so clean and cosy. We really enjoyed the spa - a staff member at the spa called Anna was very helpful and kind during our duo clay ritual experience! The food and cocktails were beautiful. We will definitely be back to stay😊

"Gorgeous hotel but extortionate prices"

4.0

We stayed overnight in the Rabbit and our package included a clay ritual, 3 course dinner and breakfast. Whilst the spa ritual and spa itself were beautiful and very relaxing, our trip was instantly dampened by the price of drinks at the bar. I usually am very understanding of the current cost of living and how this also affects businesses but the drinks prices were nothing but extortion. £8.75 for a tin of WKD, £8.75 for a pint of beer, £9.75 for a bottle of KOPPARBERG and £11-13 for a glass of wine, not to mention a single latte or cappuccino being £5.30. I spend most weekends in Dublin and travel to London often, visiting many bars and restaurants but I have yet to see prices as high as these. Shocking. To make matters worse after we decided we would order no more than one drink at the bar, we stood for five minutes and the waiter told us to just take a seat and scan a QR code which are placed around the spa, which we did. It took 25 minutes for us to receive our drinks, baring in mind it was not busy at all at this point and considering we had paid the guts of £25 for two drinks I would have expected the service to be above and beyond. We stayed in the snug and the room itself was gorgeous and spotless so that cannot be faulted but again, unlike every other hotel where you are at the very least given a complimentary biscuit - their ‘munchies’ box is completely charged - a £50 holding charge is taken upon check in so that if anything from the munchies box or mini bar is taken this will be taken from this payment. Again I can understand this logic for drinks from the mini bar but the fact there isn’t even a complimentary biscuit with the room and it’s all charged is disappointing. I think this can only be described as greed. We had a three course dinner which was included in the package and it was delicious and can’t be faulted, furthermore the service was absolutely excellent. The service at breakfast was also top notch and the ordering options were good. Overall the hotel is very unique and cosy, the spa relaxing and beautiful and the restaurant was excellent but I simply cannot look past the drinks prices within the hotel. Again I expected expensive given the standard of the hotel but this was next level. Unfortunately this has put us off returning.

"Very Disappointing Spa Break – Not Worth the Price."

2.0

We recently stayed at the Rabbit Hotel for a spa break and mud bath experience, and unfortunately it was disappointing from start to finish – especially considering this is far from a low-budget hotel. On arrival, we were booked in for the mud experience at 1pm. We were slightly late, and reception kindly moved us to 1.15pm, which we appreciated. However, from there things went downhill. We were shown to communal changing rooms with just one toilet, which felt inadequate for a hotel of this standard. As check-in wasn’t until 3pm, we were told to leave our luggage in the lobby area where customers were freely passing through. We were uncomfortable with how secure this was. When I brought my bag into the spa, I was told we weren’t entitled to a locker because we hadn’t yet been allocated our room — despite being staying guests. That felt unnecessary and poorly thought out. A big shout out to Lauren and Emily in the spa, who were genuinely helpful and accommodating. They were, without doubt, the highlight of the stay. The spa itself was okay but looking quite run down and in need of cosmetic attention. For the price point, you expect better upkeep and attention to detail. The drinks pricing was excessive. Cocktails were £15.95 each, dispensed from what appeared to be a slush machine and tasted very low budget. In the bar, wine was £10 per glass and beer around £8. For context, even Temple Bar in Dublin – known for being expensive – charges £6–£9 a pint. Dinner was booked for 5pm. The food menu was limited, expensive, and overall just OK. Nothing terrible, but certainly not worth the price being charged. We’ve stayed several times at Galgorm and decided to try its sister hotel, The Rabbit, for a change. Unfortunately, it is not in the same league at all. I don’t mind spending money when the experience matches the cost, but this felt overpriced and underwhelming throughout. Overall, a very expensive and disappointing experience. We won’t be rushing back.

"Amazing stay"

10.0

As a visually impaired female with some mobility issues, I don't go many places on my own. But this is my go to place, this is my 2nd visit and I have to say I love this spot. First off the staff are amazing and they are so helpful, if I need help in anyway they are there to help or support me. The rooms are so spacious and clean. The spa is fabulous and kept spotless. I also love the food, freshly made and tasting amazing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Also for someone who does not drive, the location is so easy to get to. The 300a bus from Grand Central leaves you right outside the door. As for Value for money yes, your paying not just for a quality stay but good food and great service. I will be returning. Thanks to the staff for making my 2 days there special.

"An anniversary to remember"

10.0

Just back from celebrating our 10th anniversary together and it didn't disappoint. We took the airport bus from Belfast which dropped us off in front of the hotel which was great. I haven't been here since it was refurbished over 15 years ago but remembered where the reception was thankfully. When we arrived around 12, the friendly staff gave us a warm welcome checked us in and gave clear instructions on where and how to get ready for the spa. Yes, the changing room is snug but serves it's purpose. It was clean and not overly busy. The spa wasn't overly busy when we arrived but most people were having their lunch in the Palm House café so we were able to head straight for the rooftop hot tub. The Spa itself is cosy and intimate, wasn't busy our entire stay so can't imagine what it'd be like busy. Unpleasant I would imagine. The roman bath was out of order until 3:30 but when it opened, it was definitely the highlight. The disco ball is glorious! The weather was miserable but didn't dampen our spirits at all. It was very chilled and romantic. The hotel and spa setting is beautiful beside a lake which is very relaxing. I think my partner and I were the only ones not drinking as we stuck to water which was enough for us. The Spa consists of 2 outdoor hot tubs, an indoor cabana with 3 beds, a warm indoor pebble beach, a steam room, a sauna, a salt chamber and 2 relaxation rooms. It has a small bar and a cafe. Would be lovely in the summer so we'll be back again. It was lovely to meet Florence the resident dog as well as it is a dog friendly hotel which is good although no dogs are allowed in the spa obviously. Our room was situated in the Snug which was at the front of the Hotel and it was very impressive. It had a lovely hot shower, WC, a king size bed, a TV, a Marshall radio to connect to, a Dyson hairdryer (bonus), tea/coffee facilities, a mini bar and snacks that aren't complimentary so prepare to pay. How we didn't give in to temptation I'll never know. A clay ritual experience was included in our stay so we dined in the Rabbit restaurant at 5pm which was perfect. The menu is à la carte but there was a great offer on. One course with a drink for £20, two courses for £27 etc. There was a great menu choice, I had the scampi with peas and chunky chips while he had the chicken goujons with fries. He had a pint of Guinness with his while I had a glass of rosé wine. The food experience in the Rabbit restaurant was exquisite including the breakfast the next day. Can't fault anything or anyone at all. The clay ritual was lovely too as we didn't know what to expect but our skin felt amazing afterwards. We decided that a one night stay isn't enough and would definitely go back for longer next time. Check out the Queen of Hearts cocktail and the fruity Bush whiskey cocktails in Hunters Bar. I had both but couldn't decide which was the nicest. Both were lovely. The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful too thank you everyone.
