Double Lake View Tissa & Safari

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

This is by far the most amazing experience we had with accommodation in Sri Lanka. I cannot stress how important it is to stay here. The family that host are the warmest most kindest people. Do not bother eating in the town which has average restaurants, the food they make here is delicious, clean & so cheap. What a spread ! The owner is super helpful & also took us on a free cruise around the lake. We learnt a lot from him about how the locals live etc. He also gave us space if we needed it, it’s completely up to you. Rooms are lovely, spotless & big with an insane view. Also make sure you book your Safari from here. Our guide had been touring for 10+ years & was amazing with the animals. I could go go on forever ha !

Lake out front is beautiful. Family run and everyone is very friendly and helpful, welcome drinks, snacks, arrange all activities to make the best out of your stay there.

The owner and his family were friendly kind and helpful. The location is amazing with a fabulous view over the lake. The owner was very knowledgeable about the animals and birds of the area. We highly recommend this place

Room was a bit small. They offered us a 4bed room, but we decided not to use it because maybe a family of 4 can use it better than a couple

All the people were so friendly and kind - it was like being part of the family!

The host family were both very welcoming from start to finish. The owner took us around the lake at sunset to view the bird and wildlife and even picked up some buffalo curd for us to try. Food was exceptional and hospitality first class and very genuine

We stayed here to visit Yala National Park but the best part of our visit was our stay at Gemunu’s lovely guest house. We were treated like royalty and each evening he took us out in his tuk tuk to view local wildlife and sights which was a really special experience. The meals were wonderful, there were always some complimentary extras and were taken on a balcony overlooking the lake. Our rooms were super comfortable with great aircon, comfy beds with mosquito nets and a shared fridge.

Nothing, it was all excellent

We really enjoyed our stay at Double Lake View due to the so kind and helpfull staff, they make you feel so welcomed. The room was perfect for a shorter stay and the food they made were delicious.
