Double Lake View Tissa & Safari

The hotel is beautifully located. You can go for morning or evening walks around the lake (or with a TukTuk) and spot many animals. The lake is also visible from the balcony. The hosts are amazing. They’re welcoming and very friendly. They organized us Taxis and a Safari. Also they prepared us a breakfast to go for the Safari Tour. Highly recommend this place!!!

There is nothing we didn’t like about this property.

Clean, comfortable, spacious for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 older teenagers). Owner and his family were very friendly and helpful. Good food - evening meal and breakfast - very tasty and generous portions. Gorgeous views from the property balcony. Good variety of restaurants a short drive away. Very good value for money. Recommend this accommodation as a base for visiting Yala National Park.

Nothing - all good

Clean comfortable rooms with an incredible view of the lake. The family who run the hotel were the most kind, generous and caring hosts we have met in Sri Lanka! They treated us and our baby like family and we wish we could have stayed longer! It was great to have so much wildlife on the doorstep of the hotel-we saw more animals on the lake tour from the hotel than in Yala, at a fraction of the cost! A wonderful place to stay.

This is set in the most beautiful area! Right near a lagoon with so much wildlife as well as nearby local villages. The owner was so helpful and did everything he could to make our stay the best! His wife cooked a brilliant sri Lankan meal for us, including Buffalo curd for desert, which was delicious. He organized a great safari for us at Yala. He also took us out for a tour for about 2 hours around the local area and showed us local wildlife and other important parts, which was amazing! So pretty! This was a small cost and so worth it! If we had time, we would have stayed longer. Beds comfortable, rooms beautiful, lovely balcony at the front of the property. It's one of our favorite stays!

The family was really friendly: They showed us crocodiles and helped us withe medicine problems. The made us feel really welcome and like home. The room was really clean. The lake infront and the nature were stunning. Also the food in the hotel was great. It is totally worth it to stay there longer.

Where do I even start? The owner was the nicest host we encountered in Sri Lanka. Forget about eating anywhere but at their house. They prepare the most delicious curry - best we had so far. They breakfast was really good and the portions are very large. The host also organized a safari to Yala park with a very experinced ranger. We even saw a Leopard and a tusker. The host proposed that we go to Kataragama with him for the festival. He arranged the best seats at the festival just for us - free of charge. We met some of the nicest people at the festival, they explained all the history during the festival and tried to please all of our expectations. The location of the house is also at the edge of a very beautiful lake. All in all, you will not be disapointed to book your stay here.

The owner was amazing, very attentive and friendly - he went out of his way to make our stay special: organising us a safari breakfast, taking us to the bus station for free, making sure we got on the correct bus and offering us unexpected food before we left which was so thoughtful. The food cooked by his wife was delicious and his whole family were so friendly. The views were also amazing! We saw so much wildlife just from the balcony. This was an accommodation that we will not forget - would definitely recommend. Thank you!

The host, Gemunu and his family and friends were amazing and very responsive. Great location right in front of the lake, you can take a walk around or have the host organize a tuktuk, you can see so many birds, buffalos, bats even crocodiles. It's very peaceful and serene. He also helped us organize the Yala National Park safari. Food was so good, the host catered to all our wants and needs :D Highly recommend!!!

Very welcoming host who offered us coconut drink upon our arrival. Accommodation was very nice and clean. Assistance with dinner, which was very tasty and definitely recommendable. After returning from the morning safari, we were provided with a cold towel and fresh mango juice, a true extra touch. Whoever is planning to stay in the area, should stop by Double lake view.
