Double Lake View Tissa & Safari

Incredibly clean and comfortable room, lovely view from balcony to the lake. The evening meal was also delicious. Perfect spot to visit Yala National Park.

This was one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka!! It's better than other places which were 6 x the price! The locations is so beautiful, we hired bikes a cycled round the lakes and local area which was amazing. Spent the late afternoon on the balcony watching the birds and other wildlife on the lake, it was very peaceful. We were made a delicious dinner and a packed breakfast for our safari at yala. The room was great, small but fine for what we needed, and it was absolutely spotless clean! Air con was good and bed comfy. The hosts were just absolutely fantastic, the most lovely people! 10/10 stay, I wish we could have stayed for longer!

We enjoyed a wonderful four-nights-stay in Tissa as a point of departure to the nationalparks. From the start, our friendly host and his whole family made as feel welcome and indulged us with lovely welcome drinks, dishes, tips what to visit, where to have dinner. They organised all tours to three parks with pick ups in the mornings and packed lunch. Also our drivers there were perfectly chosen and made our days special while visiting elephants, eagles, sloth bears and leopards. The house is at a beautiful lake, you can relish breakfast with a view. Friendliness, service, cleanliness, Wifi, selection of fresh fruits and homemade local food like hoppers – all five stars!!!

The location had an great view of the lake. The safari we arranged through the hotel was absolutely amazing, a good price, and our guide Nissanka was excellent and very knowledgeable. Staff were very attentive and the food was excellent with a choice Sri Lankan dishes.

A little far from town, but perfect location for nature and peace.

Stunning view of the lake. ! Host and family were amazing ( Got us bike hire for the day ! Sorted out a private safari trip and took us to bus stop in tuk tuk and waited with us for bus to come ! Food was unbelievable !! Great value for money

The family who run the property are very friendly and helpful. Whilst the accommodation is fairly basic it is very clean. The view from the communal balcony/seating area is lovely even on a wet day.

In wet weather like we experienced there wasn’t a great deal to do at or near the property and what you could do eg Safari wasn’t the experience it should have been.

We spent one night here, and everyone was very kind and attentive to us. During dinner, we even got to taste a local specialty, curd. Both dinner and breakfast were abundant. The view was great, and the room was suitable as well. I can recommend this place!

Clean and spacious rooms, with a balcony overlooking the lake. You can sit in the balcony and enjoy spotting watching birds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast (they were kind to provide it at 11am as it took us time to return from our safari)
