Amazing location, right next to river Olt! Very clean and fancy rooms, very nice staff, great spa services and very nice staff! Also bonus points for the lady who does the massage services in the hotel, she is a true pro! Must visit!

It was our second stay at River Hotel&Spa. We had a warm welcome by the reception staff and they always had time to attend to our needs and answer questions regarding the facilities. The rooms are clean and the beds soft. The pool and saunas are easily accessible and well maintained. Breakfast is a blast, diverse and tasty. Good restaurant food served by smiling waitresses. We booked several massages during our stay and we were lucky enough to be attended by Mrs. Maria as the masseuse. My mom has an advanced stage of osteoporosis, this being one of the reasons we went to the healing spring waters of Călimănești. Mrs. Maria's experience in the art of massage healed a shoulder pain my mom was having for the past 6 months, and we are very grateful for that. Now we know where we will book our next holiday.

There's nothing I didn't like. The only thing I found was a bit odd was that there was no waitress service when you sit in the back of the pool garden. Of course, you can always go to the bar, which is very close, place an order and they will bring it to your table. In my mind I think people would order more often if they would be attended at their sunbeds and not necessarily having to go at the bar. But this may be more of a personal habit which was picked up on the seaside beaches and may not necessarily apply at a mountain spa hotel.

Șederea la River Hotel & Spa Călimănești a fost, în mare parte, plăcută. Piscina cu apă termală este un mare plus – curată și relaxantă. Micul dejun a fost ok, iar camera decentă și curată.

Experiența legată de prețuri a fost foarte confuză și frustrantă. Dintr-o eroare, am rezervat pe Booking.com o cameră twin pentru o singură persoană, la prețul de 540 lei. La recepție ni s-a cerut o diferență de aproximativ 67 lei pentru a reflecta faptul că suntem două persoane, ajungând la un total de ~607 lei. Problema este că: * la recepție era afișat un tarif de 540 lei pentru cameră twin pentru două persoane; * în același timp, verificând pe Booking chiar atunci, aceeași cameră pentru două persoane era disponibilă la un preț redus de aproximativ 466 lei (de la 609 lei); Cu toate acestea, ni s-a cerut să plătim prețul maxim (~609 lei), mai mare atât decât cel afișat în hotel, cât și decât oferta activă de pe Booking. Explicațiile primite au fost neclare (legate de comisioane și tipuri de tarif), iar situația a dat impresia că ești dezavantajat fie că rezervi din timp, fie că încerci să clarifici la recepție. Consider că politica de prețuri nu este transparentă și nu este gestionată corect față de client, ceea ce a afectat semnificativ experiența per total. Later edit, după răspunsul hotelului: Înțeleg explicația conform căreia tarifele pot varia în funcție de platformă și condițiile rezervării. Totuși, problema semnalată de mine rămâne aceeași: suma solicitată a fost mai mare atât decât tariful afișat la recepție pentru aceeași cameră, cât și decât oferta disponibilă online în acel moment. De asemenea, consider incorectă afirmația că aș fi condiționat review-ul de acordarea unui discount. Discuția avută la recepție a fost strict despre aplicarea tarifului afișat de hotel pentru camera respectivă, nu despre obținerea unei reduceri nejustificate. Cred că o comunicare mai clară și o aplicare transparentă a tarifelor ar fi evitat întreaga situație.
