Hotel Boutique El Establo

The property was exactly like you see in the pictures: it has all the comforts and amenities including hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and even body lotion! The room was warm and cozy, and the fact that breakfast was left in the fridge the evening before was great since pick up times for excursions can be as early as 6 am. It is just 10 mins away from the city centre, and it’s a very pleasant and easy walk. The area and the hostal feel very safe too. The whole city does. The Rotundo Bistrot just one block away is amazing!

There seemed to be a functioning reception in the main building but this is no longer in use. Having a working reception would be helpful as some tour guides could not reach me on my phone and they could have asked staff to get me. Moreover, responses to messages on WhatsApp and Booking were quite slow. The lack of a reception also means you are charged remotely on your card for payment and this is far from transparent in my view.

So cute and cozy! Wonderful big breakfast in the room. Very close to the bus station.

Walls a little thin, so bring earplugs, if needed.

The heating wasn’t working. No one was there and it was very hard to get in touch. It’s been two weeks since check-out, and we still haven’t received the invoice, and we can’t reach anyone either.

Very cozy, clean and well decorated rooms. Breakfast provided was fresh daily and delicious.

Everything was great.

The Hostal is secure. Rooms are very nicely appointed. Comfortable beds and a good sized and functional bathroom. Heated towel rails! Breakfast supplied is more than sufficient. Holding our luggage whilst completing the W Trek was very much appreciated.

Communication was lacking at times. In the end we got all the information we needed when we needed it and everything went smoothly. I was having issues with Booking.com and processing a credit card, I got no response El Establo despite several attempts. This was a bit unnecessarily stressful at a time when I had limited access to phone and internet.

- For the price you pay, not having staff present at the hotel is not adequate - Wifi was working very bad in the room - Room floor was not very clear on 2 of the 3 days (maybe some material enters under the door where there is wind)? This was very clear the first night we came in, and after whatsapping the staff the next day was better, bit on the third night we still had a dirty floor - Sink in the bathroom is too small Overall quality does not match the price
