I came here as a solo female traveler and mentioned to the owner through WhatsApp that I was tired from my other travels and didn't want to deal with anyone at the time of my arrival. He told the workers not to bother me. I felt at home and safe here. I never rested as well as I did here. I had everything I needed, and the owner was respectful and responded to my requests in WhatsApp promptly (because sending the message through Booking takes time to arrive). It was close enough to walk to the ferry in 10 minutes and take the ferry to the dock near the temples of Luxor and a short distance to the stunning temple at Karnak. Also, the owner is from here and told us about temples and tombs we did not know were here. Most people don't know about these other sites. My sister was here, and we had so much fun visiting them. I had what I needed as far as cooking, shopping for food, etc. and a wonderful, generous, free breakfast. I felt so charmed and at home here that I had to write a review, even though I don't always have time to write reviews. This is the most refreshing place in Luxor. I've tried other places in Luxor this same trip. Memoun House was always full, but they were very helpful, and I was able to reserve a place here when they had a room available. My privacy is very important to me, and I was happy to have a private bathroom and kitchen. Also, they made sure I had WiFi and the password to contact them any time if I needed anything.

I did not like moving. I wanted to cry when it was time to move. This is the heart of the land.

Good shower and a nice quiet location

They won't stop sending us abusive messages for raising valid problems with our booking. It's actually unhinged. We booked an apartment and there were people staying in one of the rooms - this was not an old lady but two people, maybe in their 20s, and we arrived early enough for their still to be plenty of time for them to find transport and accommodation options, we were not told about them being there until check in or we would have found other accomodation - I have never had this before and one of the bedrooms didn't lock so it didn't feel very safe, as well as meaning we didn't even have a private bathroom. None of the facilities listed were present - there was no kettle, no washing machine, the WiFi didn't work and the stove didn't work so it was impossible to boil water or make food. We were advised to walk rather than take a taxi from the ferry, but with suitcases, take a taxi! Received abusive messages from the staff after leaving our review. Also their response is weird, my friend and I are not married and therefore required and used separate rooms (hence booking an apartment and not a room) but our marriage status is irrelevant and they seem homophobic in their increasingly wild version of events.

Mahmoud and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It is quietly situated on the west side of the Nile about 15mins walk from the public ferry. The room was well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was served upstairs on the roof terrace where you have fantastic views over the Nile. Excellent place to stay. Only one small point,the water from the shower comes through to the bedroom floor.. Not a big issue but needs to be fixed. It was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend.

I had a really relaxing stay at memnoun house. The breakfast with a view was delicious. The room was nice and clean. The location was good. I would recommend staying here if you're in luxor!

Egyptian hospitality at its finest! Badawy and Ahmed helped with everytying not just about arranging tours but about taking me by motor from boat dock. Have nice view from the rooftop where u can take food and have breakfast! Room is awesomely renovated and very comfy! Situated in a cozy area where u can stay a little break from east bank crowdness. Thanks everything from start to finish my friend!

It is really a peaceful place, I directly felt home and secure. It's quiet and recharging. The kind of place where you could stay on the rooftop the whole day, reading a book and reflecting. Super clean too, I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Mahmoud is awesome! Very happy to help his guests with everything. He took me by motorbike to all the places I needed to go, was always friendly and he's a good cook! That brings me to the great breakfast. Can only recommend! Everything is great: the room, the staff, the food and of course the great view! :) Tip at sunrise look behind you to see the balloons, it's a unique sight!

The person in charge, Mahmoud, was truly helpful and very correct. He permanently asked me about breakfast time, needs, tea, coffee, etc. The breakfast was very rich. The views on the Nile are awesome, from dawn to dusk. The background views are remarkable, green cultivated fields, balloons departing at down from the mortuary valleys. It is a really quiet neighborhood and I felt very safe.

The apartment is unfinished. My room had a round hole without glass or mosquito nets, so at nights I was at war with the infamous beings. I had to sleep bathed in mosquito repellents and still they had their success. Besides, the cleanliness needs to be improved.
