Sherwood Arms Motel

The room #8 I stayed in was very large and clean. I loved the wooden ceiling with the beams running across and the string lights on it. Also the fireplace. Right next to a thrift shop, a small market, and a lot of food. No complaints, everything was smooth

Jin, the gentleman at the front desk was warm and welcoming. I felt very safe as a single woman traveler. The room had a real kitchenette including a stove and oven, sink and basic dishes and pans. I didn’t use the stove/oven this time but will the next time! There is a nice picnic area complete with grill and picnic tables on the property. Stacey’s gift shop next door has an eclectic collection of items. I plan to return with more cash to purchase some gift items. This was a ‘runaway’ night after a couple of very intense weeks, the perfect antidote! The only potential issue was the tv WiFi had problems and wouldn’t connect. This is a potential problem in the mountains, not a hotel issue, so definitely bring a book in case the WiFi is inconsistent. The water pressure in the shower and temperature control were great, better than at home :-) I will definitely ‘runaway’ to the Sherwood Arms again. The vibe is peaceful, healing. It’s an easy walk to town, and easy access to explore the surrounding area.

The location was nice.

Outdated a lot of cluder on the property, room was not well cleaned.

The room was very clean except the couch was stained. Comfortable beds with large kitchen and living room. We stayed it Room #5 which was a suite. Walking distance to town. The hotel was a little run down but a good bargain for the price.

Had a stove top, no exhaust fan. Bed frame was broken, bathroom in master bedroom, TV didn’t work, close to the main road so heard traffic into the evening. I’d never take my family here. Luckily just a guys trip.

This was my second time here and I brought a friend. We both had different rooms, 7 and 9. Again, I was super happy. I love it here and it's close to everything and the price literally cannot be beat. So, to address some other reviewers (because I almost didn't stay first time due to some reviews). Yes, the bedrooms don't have alternative seating unless you have a kitchen or deck, you just have the bed. No, the cabin isn't new and fancy but it's cozy and motel like. It's the experience of being in the woods. There is zero chance you will get your own little cabin, walking distance to town, for under $100. So, stay here! They are super nice. If you're a very picky or a posh person, then pay $250-400 a night for a cabin and stop complaining. This is a mountain town. Doors don't line up, the paints not new and there are going to be bugs now and again. Yes, it snows, deal with the parking or stay home. There are a ton of parking spots when not snowing . The beds are super comfy and if you book a king room, the beds are massive! 10 stars. It has all you need, if you're not a twerp.

Everything, they were super nice. I stayed in room 7, but I saw room 8. Both were really great. I don't know why there are complaints. There was AC, heat, a kitchen, all the stuff you need to cook and coffee stuff. There was a table to eat. A view, everything. I'm already back for a second stay.
