Bacchus Hotel

Did not have breakfast. Wasn’t included in our booking.

Some sort of fan or air conditioning in the bedroom.

Booked short notice , dog friendly accommodation .

Need a water bowl in the dog friendly room . Doesn’t do food all day . Had to wait until evening . Large venue , better signage for doggy areas please

I have stayed here at least half a dozen times now and it never disappoints. It was my first time bringing my dog and the hotel was very dog friendly. Food was superb, as always. Will definitely return.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Yvonne. The room was clean but dated. To be fair, it wasn't the room I booked but it didn't give the impression that the other would have been value for money. The bathroom was spacious and clean but the shower wasn't a very strong flow. We had a meal there in the evening and that was pretty good but, be warned! They don't start serving till 6.30pm so the queue to order is large straightaway which meant a fair wait for the food. The breakfast was a good size but, unfortunately, the bacon was like leather :-( Maybe this was because we didn't go down until 9.00am and they stop serving at 9.15am. We left early the next day as I was unwell so we can't comment on the breakfast as it is normally. The Bacchus is well situated, the bar area is lovely and plenty of room in the beer garden.

Room refurbished but done on a budget for the price of the room. The rest of the hotel outdated and resembling an old people’s home complete with Stannah stairlift. Breakfast good. Evening meal good and well priced.

Hallway doors and landing very grubby. Lots of dust and grime on the handrails. Doors sticky to the touch and needs a good clean. Restaurant closes at 8pm and breakfast opens only at 8am. Travellers need to get breakfast from 7am. Hotel seems to be run for the owners convenience not guests. The price of this hotel is too high a price for what it is offering. I would put it as a small budget hotel. Rooms should be no more than £110 max.
